Creation of a modish, functional house which includes the client’s work space and also embraces the passion of their kid in the best way was the prominent requirement of the family. The proposal was designing an aesthetically appealing contemporary home. The task was to design a space that envelopes the character of a cosy home and yet radiates quality of professionalism within the dwelling corner. The tones used were earthy in few areas of the space whereas in few of it, subtle and subdued colours were used.

A pop of vibrant and contrasting shades were brought into the play that helped in making the space a dynamic and active. Certain captivating artefacts were placed within the house which defined the tastes and characteristics of the dwellers. The client’s fondness and admiration towards creativity was also narrated with wall paintings throughout the space.
A section of the space depicted that rawness in the environment with all the elements around it. The wall of exposed brickwork leads the person inside the living area where one could experience the fresh, open space with vibrant tones of particular elements.
Using local materials has the obvious benefit of reducing the significant environmental impacts of transporting materials long distances. Materials used, to a larger extent were local which became remarkably economical.
Linen curtains, sofa fabrics including the cushions, nearly all the upholstery were chosen to be organic. The bricks used were evidently recycled, wooden panelling and all other furniture pieces were designed out of reclaimed wood.
Bio based sustainable wall paints were chosen that integrated well with the variety of partitions within the space. Flooring tiles like terrazzo, wood which were durable as well as attractive were incorporated within the space. Plants make the space fresh and lively. Indoor air purifying plants and planters with minimal impression were chosen for flawless aesthetics.
An open kitchen area was a noted manifestation. Thus, connection of dining space with the kitchen was par for the course.
The trick here was to bring together both activities under one canopy so, a vaulted ceiling was created which bridged both the spaces visually.
Master bedroom and daughter’s bedroom were designed using minimal aesthetics and neutral colours with hints of modern vibrancy.
A dance studio for client’s daughter was also created that incorporated the temple area. One of the rooms were transformed into a home office. This space, with its colour, furniture orientation and material selection, gave a sense of methodical, conventional space.
The home, in large followed a language of orthogonal streaks with all the elements in various fashion. To break this linearity in horizontal and vertical axis, certain curves were very subtly introduced by bringing in various crucial elements like clock, wall painting, light fixtures etc.
This completely transformed the look of the space. A hidden flushed door was floated in the plane of exposed brick wall which actually was the access to the dance studio. Pristine diversity can be noted in all the vertical planes of the space. Painted walls, panelled walls, cladded walls, all the types together composed this space of liberty, leisure and methodology.
