The client approached me on the interior phase of the home, they wanted something very timeless yet modern. A place which is not only designed well but also user and weather-friendly as Jaipur weather gets extreme summers and winters. It’s actually a mix of modern and minimal to make it timeless. Or as I would call it, A Timeless Contemporary Style!

Inspiration was a mix of zen philosophies for the courtyards and reading spaces and more plush for the communal spaces to host guests in a lavish way, as Jaipur is also a very social city. . The simplicity of the house reflects in the exterior as well with the monotone colors and a strategically save tree over the drive way.
The central spinal courtyard filters light throughout the floors. As Jaipur is really hot in summers, the courtyard does not only help in ventilation but also has a small water body bringing in positivity and coolness to the space.
As jaipur is a city of social event and family gatherings, the formal drawing room also completely opens into the living area making it again a very social and big space for hosting people. The living and dining are completely open towards the courtyard as well as a central kitchen that will encourage more and more family time
Most of the spaces in the house have been kept as bare white walls to facilitate the change in future. This will let the client use the space in multiple ways. Like the reading area outside the first floor master bedroom opens up to the terrace garden with the sliding door, thus one can convert it into a party zone when needed. All rooms have multiple windows and openings making the space connected to the outdoors.
The solar panels apart from taking care of the total electrical requirement of the house also keep the terrace cool as they act as a canopy above.
My favorite part of the design would be the courtyard and the kids rooms. I think the courtyard really opened up the space to numerous possibilities and the little 5 year old girl’s bedroom has soft pastel yellow chair along with 4 poster bed brining in the playful vibe.
The play area of the 5 year old girl has been strategically placed in the courtyard on first floor to let the child breathe in fresh air.
