The early morning sun-kissed sand hues were used as the color palette for the living room. The wall has been painted in a bluish-grey tint reimaging the sky. The grey sofa and the pop of gold yellow lounge chairs give the bold sun-kissed feel. The yellow lounge chair is accompanied by the gold floor lamp. Elements of gold in small details like the wall décor, side, and center table add a dash of glamour and luxury to space.
The dining table in the light sand grey wood finish is adorned by three hanging lights above. The light tinted sand finish grey fabric chairs with the golden legs add a touch of glamour. The beveled mirror near the dining table adds depth to this small cozy living room.
The idea was to highlight the space with different mood lighting. Along with the hanging light over the dining table and the golden floor lamp by the side of the lounge chair, the walls are adorned with golden brass beaten wall scones. These unique lights throughout the living room and the passage to the rooms create a perfect evening setting for different moods. The passage as well as been adorned by a sting of different shaped glass blown hanging lights. The combination of these glasses is blown hanging lights and the golden wall scones create a magical effect while passing through.
The gold rush effect pours into the powder bathroom by using Matt gold basin and fittings- creating a rich exclusive feel. The round mirror with the hanging lights above the basin creates a quirky young décor for this common bathroom.
The kid’s bedroom has been given a subtle pastel candy feel. The idea was to choose such colors that over a few years when the grow bigger they still like the colors that don’t feel too childish. The subtle pastel pink wallpaper adds a nice color pop to the pastel green furniture. This bold color choice of pastel green works well with a hint of walnut brown wooden handles and other details for the furniture. Both the girls have their own study table with a pop candy pastel pink chair for themselves. It’s a new twist of using pink for the girl’s bedroom.
The master bedroom is adorned with a gold sand effect wallpaper over the headboard which acts as the highlight of the room. Keeping the rest of the room, furniture and walls are in neutral white gray so that the wallpaper stands out. The dark grey curtains create a lovely contrast to the golden sand wallpaper. The glass hanging light adorns the bedside table.
The guest bedroom needed to be simple yet elegant. Emphasis was given to the back rest wall as the main element of the room. The wall was covered with a black beaten metal sheet along with vertical wooden battens. The walnut wooden bed in contrast to the black cupboards created a warm yet cozy feeling. The wooden barn hanging lights help add a wow factor to the black metal wall.
While designing this house our main focus was understanding how different type of lighting can create different moods and enhance a space. Keeping the concept in mind we had gold as a binding element that connect all the spaces together.
