A 50-year-old Home Is Revived Into A Vibrant Abode With Light & Life | Nebulous Design Workshop P Ltd
Our Indian-at-heart client envisioned a modern transformation of their 50-year-old home that beautifully converges into a Modern Indian Home. And so, the journey began. The designers carefully selected marble to play across different surfaces, adding a touch of elegance to the space.
Ancestral brass, Veena, and Mridangam (clients 70 year old heritage) took center stage, their rich tones and intricate craftsmanship infusing the home with cultural significance and nostalgia.
Elegant arcs added a classic charm, while batik blocks, silk, and jute whispered tales of ancient craftsmanship. Indian-inspired wallpapers enriched the niches, walls, and wardrobes, creating a sense of continuity and tradition.
Old teakwood, once a silent witness to memories, was given new life as modern doors and accents. The ancient temple door, a testament to the home’s rich heritage, was transformed into stunning wall art. The temple itself became a serene oasis, adorned with aqua green onyx, stone-designed rangoli, and Indo-modern sliders.
A traditional swing added a touch of nostalgia, inviting relaxation and contemplation. Bespoke hand art on walls and doors transports one to a world of rich culture, a testament to the home’s deep roots.
Project Saundh is more than a home – it’s a masterpiece of storytelling, a symphony of heritage and innovation, tradition and modernity, blending past and present in perfect harmony. It’s a space that celebrates the beauty of Indian culture and the power of transformation.
The project draws deeply from Indian culture, ancestral artefacts, traditional craftsmanship, batik work, silk textures, carved teak, and the spiritual symbolism of temple architecture.
Rather than referencing any single architectural maestro, the inspiration came from the client’s emotional heritage, the materials of the original house, and the idea of breathing life into memories. The entire 50-year-old home is built around one core emotion: revival with respect.
