Some designs feel like a true form of art. The same can be said about this 4BHK designed by Design Studio Associates. From warm textures and muted tones to clever functionality, every room here feels like a chapter in a story that’s stitched together with elegance and ease.
“The aim was to design a home that feels warm, functional, and personal—where textures, colours, and lighting come together seamlessly to create spaces that are both lived-in and distinctive,” explains Ar. Ruchir Sheth, Principal Architect at Design Studio Associates.
This Home With Muted Tones Feels Warm, Functional And Personal | Design Studio Associates
The foyer is quietly stylish, designed to welcome without overwhelming. Clean lines and muted tones give it an understated charm, while subtle foyerdetailing hints at the sophistication inside. It’s not just an entry—it’s a gentle transition from the outside world to the calm within – symbolized by the Ganesh idol in the entryway.
Sunlight streams in generously, bouncing off muted tones of beiges and off-whites that make the room feel expansive. The panelled walls provide structure, while a solid centre table anchors the seating.
Lighting here is layered—ambient fixtures wash the room in warmth, while accent lamps carve out intimate corners. The sculptural accent chair, with its sleek curves, is as much a design highlight as it is a cozy seat.
The dining zone flows seamlessly from the living space, its boundaries defined by design rather than walls. A warm stone-topped table sits beneath a pendant light that sets the stage for everything from daily meals to celebratory dinners.
The textures—smooth table tops, upholstered seating, and soft glows of lighting—make it both functional and intimate.
The designers designed the kitchen in a way where efficiency rules – but never at the expense of aesthetics. The deep burgundy cabinetry lends colour to the kitchen area while hiding away clutter.
A smartly placed breakfast bar doubles up as a casual dining corner, perfect for quick meals or conversations over coffee. Task lighting under cabinets keeps workspaces bright, while reflective surfaces bounce light around to make the kitchen feel roomier.
This bedroom is a restful haven, with a layered headboard that beautifully gives way to a full heighted bed back of soft flex stone. The palette leans toward muted tones, soft neutrals, creating a sense of calm, while textured fabrics add depth without clutter.
Sleek bedside tables and a compact TV unit complete the space with quiet functionality. The full-length windows ensure natural lighting and open space that further adds to the sense of serenity in this room.
This room takes a bolder approach with accent walls that instantly commands attention. The use of panelling and flex stone creates a perfect harmony while adding character to the design. The layered headboard grounds the design, while the upholstered textures add comfort.
The sleek TV unit becomes part of the backdrop rather than a distraction and the twin bedside tables add just the right touch of symmetry.
In this bedroom, muted palettes and clean panelling help create a tranquil space. The pintucked headboard softens the wall, while functional bedside tables double as storage.
A sleek, built-in wardrobe with black tinted glass and an open storage shelf offers ample storage without interrupting the room’s calm aesthetic.
This bedroom blends warmth with sophistication. A layered headboard set against wave-textured panelling creates a striking focal point, while neutral tones soften the look. Curved bedside tables with marble tops tie in elegance and utility.
The TV unit integrates seamlessly within vertical wooden panelling, keeping the design sleek. A glossy black wardrobe adds depth and amplifies the room’s sense of space.
A spa-like escape, the bathroom is dressed in muted stone finishes and warm grey accents. Panelled mirrors expand the sense of space, while concealed lighting creates a soft glow around vanities.
Every fixture has been chosen for both sleekness and utility, turning daily routines into indulgent rituals. The fluted glass wardrobe with backlighting offers ease of storage and adds grace to the otherwise pristine while space.
Expansive and inviting, the balcony is designed as an outdoor living room—a perfect retreat for lounging and unwinding. A swing, dressed in striped cushions, anchors one end, while woven chairs with vibrant orange upholstery add bursts of energy against the neutral flooring and ceiling.
Warm lighting enhances the cozy atmosphere, making it ideal for morning coffee, lazy afternoons, or evenings under the stars. It’s a space where relaxation takes centre stage.
“What makes this home stand out isn’t just its colour schemes or clever panelling—it’s how every design decision balances mood and function. Lighting transforms spaces throughout the day, palettes create harmony, and details like paneling or storage solutions ground the design in practicality. It’s not simply a house—it’s a lifestyle, thoughtfully curated and designed,” concludes ID Krupal Sheth of Design Studio Associates.
