  • This Bar Restaurant Design Introduces a Fresh Narrative to Social Landscape | Studio Camarada

Situated in the vibrant heart of Indiranagar, Reservoire introduces a fresh narrative to Bangalore’s social landscape, where art, nature, and architecture converge seamlessly. Spanning 6,500 square feet over three distinct levels with seating for 300, this visionary pub offers a transformative space inspired by its natural surroundings and bold artistic expression.

Editor’s Note: With the harmonious blend of social landscape, architectural design, and art – Reservoire has pushed boundaries in the realm of pub design. Just as the name suggests, the pub comes alive with its vibrant art installations inspired by flora and fauna. By blurring the boundaries between indoors and outdoors, the pub radiates fresh narratives in the urban fabric. – Ar. Rajvi Dedakiya

The journey of ‘The Reservoire’ began with a deep appreciation for the site, formerly home to The Humming Tree. Envisioning the potential of the terrace, our team at Studio Camarada reimagined the entire space, stripping down the interiors to create a dynamic layout featuring a mezzanine, a central retractable roof, and an expansive terrace. Unlike its Koramangala counterpart, this Indiranagar location is an entirely new concept, built from the ground up to offer a fresh perspective on blending open-air design with nature. As a result, a sophisticated structure that beautifully balances both spaciousness and intimacy, a rare combination in urban spaces.

    Entrance

Upon entry, guests are greeted by a dramatic double-height volume. Furthermore, it is accentuated by the retractable roof—a feature that invites natural light and fresh air into the venue by opening it up to the sky. The terrace, with its lush tropical foliage, creates a serene escape within the city. Thus, combining modern urban sophistication with the calming influence of nature. This open design, adorned with natural textures and organic elements, beautifully balances Bangalore’s dynamic energy with tranquillity.

    Bar Area

Art plays a pivotal role at Reservoire. Colossal wing sculptures by Goa-based artist Siddharth Kerkar soar above the central space, serving as the venue’s defining visual centrepiece. These striking installations, along with an abstract, fiery phoenix-like piece at the bar. It sets the tone for a space where creativity is celebrated at every turn at this bar restaurant design. Additionally, hand-painted artworks, fabric prints, and sculptures enrich the venue’s artistic allure, inviting guests to immerse themselves in its unique aesthetic.

    Natural Materials

Textures are the backbone of Reservoire’s bar restaurant interior design. From the intricate knife art by Subin to the elegant block-printed fabrics and stone cladding, the venue is alive with tactile richness. Natural materials such as terrazzo tabletops infuse warmth, while the earthy yet vibrant color palette reflects a harmonious fusion of tradition and modernity. The overall design evokes a sense of refined luxury while maintaining a grounded essence of nature.

    Tropical Courtyard

A hallmark of The Reservoire is its seamless integration of architecture and the natural environment. The retractable terrace reveals a lush, tropical courtyard—an oasis that feels worlds away from the bustling city below. A central stone water fountain enhances the tranquility of the space, offering guests a serene atmosphere to unwind. The vibrant greenery and abundant natural light create a harmonious setting where urban life and nature coexist beautifully.

    Origin of Reservoire

The name “Reservoire” conjures images of a vast, flowing water body, a theme subtly woven throughout the design. The venue draws inspiration from the landscapes, flora, and fauna of its surroundings. With every detail—from natural textures to striking art—is meticulously curated to engage the senses. More than just a pub, Reservoire offers a sensory journey that intertwines luxury, creativity, and nature, establishing a new benchmark in Bangalore’s nightlife.

The Reservoire is a celebration of innovation in design, art, and nature. It redefines the urban social experience, offering an elevated yet intimate space where guests can connect with both their surroundings and each other, creating lasting memories in an extraordinary setting.
