The Modern Design of this Apartment Stands as a Testament to Wabi-Sabi | Archaic Design Studio
The design ethos revolves around minimalism, deliberately using space and materials to evoke calm and openness. An exquisite blend of earthy and subtle tones, including beige, grey, black, and earthen hues, forms the colour palette, providing a soothing backdrop that enhances the overall sense of peace within the space.
Walls and ceilings are adorned with a lime texture, a natural material that minimizes chemical use, adding a tactile dimension and a cohesive look throughout the apartment. Lighting plays a pivotal role in accentuating the minimalist design; warm white lights create a cozy ambiance, while predominantly black fixtures complement the aesthetic, adding a touch of modern sophistication.
The living room showcases understated elegance. An Italian marble backdrop behind the television imparts luxury, while a curved Wabi-Sabi-style artefact shelf introduces organic softness.
The fabric hanging light and full-height curtains contribute to the warm and welcoming atmosphere, while a striking black wall décor behind the sofa serves as a focal point, seamlessly blending art and design.
The strategically positioned entrance console ensures privacy and a gradual reveal of the interior. The passage, featuring a metal and wooden console table accompanied by a round mirror, creates a stylish and practical space connecting various parts of the apartment, maintaining the minimalist theme with a touch of sophistication. Furthermore, the luxurious Italian marble flooring provides a cool, elegant foundation throughout the residence.
The kitchen, an essential space in every household, combines functionality and style with an artificial stone countertop and brick-sized wall dado tiles. PU shutters and overhead storage offer ample space for essentials, while a service platform doubles as a separator and breakfast table. Designed to accommodate modern conveniences, this space offers sufficient storage for electronic gadgets like microwaves, mixers, and juicers.
In the dining area, a marble-top dining table is paired with a delicate glass hanging light that casts a soft glow over meals. A round wall decor piece adds artistic flair, while a fluted glass partition subtly divides the dining and living spaces. The breakfast table, adorned with fluted wooden panels, and the crockery storage with fluted glass showcase meticulous attention to detail and texture.
The master bedroom exudes luxury with a beige Italian marble back wall. The cosy bed, clad in fabric, complements the surrounding furniture, including an armchair and a drum-shaped wooden side table. The room cleverly uses curves to conceal a column, creating a metal shelf for displaying artifacts.
A hidden bathroom door, full-height wardrobe with PU color, and a TV unit designed with metal and veneer enhance the room’s sophisticated appeal. A large dressing mirror, cosmetic storage, and fabric hanging light add to the functionality and style of the space.
The kids’ room blends playfulness with functionality. Green-tinted furniture and a full-height green wardrobe with a fluted pattern and smiley wooden handles create a cheerful environment. A fabric hanging light and L-shaped study table provide comfort and space for activities.
The bed’s brick-coloured leather back and curved panelling with profile lighting add warmth. Meanwhile, storage cum steps offer both storage and a playful element. Cloud-shaped storage and an AC pelmet complete the whimsical design. However, despite its compact size, the guest room/office is a multifunctional space that also accommodates a temple, working desk, wardrobe, dressing mirror, and double bed with ease.
A fabric hanging light and round-shaped bed back wall light enhance the cosy atmosphere. Meanwhile, the fabric-clad bed and working desk create a comfortable workspace, ideal for working from home.
A beautifully designed temple and a large wardrobe offer aesthetic and practical benefits, with a hidden door providing discreet access to the toilet and entryway.
Moving further to the first floor of the house, the home theatre featuring L-shaped low-height seating is designed for versatility.
The curved pattern wall panel serves both acoustic and aesthetic purposes. A large screen dominates the space, which can be used for various activities.
Full-height curtains not only enhance the room’s acoustic properties but also add a touch of drama and elegance. The inclusion of a kids’ pool and garden area makes the space ideal for every user. Thus, offering various forms of entertainment and relaxation.
The apartment interiors, designed by the team of Archaic Design Studio, sensitively integrate the Wabi-Sabi concept and modern design elements. Moreover, this is to create a space that is both aesthetically pleasing and functionally superior. Every detail, from the choice of materials to the layout and decor, has been meticulously planned to offer a serene and luxurious living experience
