We thoroughly enjoyed crafting the interiors for ‘Chaat ka Chaska’, a Delhi-based Indian street food franchise, as they launched their very first Restaurant outlet here in Gujarat-Vadodara!
Infusing the essence of Indian street culture into every corner, our design narrative transports you to bustling bazaars and lively alleys. Bold hues reminiscent of spice markets dance against earthy tones, creating a dynamic contrast that ignites the senses. From vintage posters to modern accents, every element harmonizes to craft an immersive dining experience. This restaurant in vadodara celebrates the vibrant spirit of Indian street food.

Step into the foyer, where vibrant hues and rich heritage collide! Under a canopy of bright and colourful wallpaper adorned with intricate Indian motifs, the warm yellow walls embrace you. Thus exuding a welcoming glow that sets the tone for your culinary journey.
Our favourite corner of the restaurant is adorned with eclectic treasures. Antique wooden frames, spice jars, a tea kettle, and vintage Indian vessels are placed on a quaint bicycle console with an original pani puri stand beside them. Thus taking you back to the ‘good old days’!
The backlit poster behind the reception counter encapsulates our vision of a carefully crafted experience. ‘Chai, Chaat & Chutney- a street food journey through India’ that every Indian can relate to!
Moreover, immerse yourself in the hand-painted mural wall art, which transports you on a visual journey through Vadodara, paying a whimsical homage to the city’s charm. Inspired by the beloved style of renowned artist Mario Miranda, this masterpiece breathes life into the cityscape through playful cartoons and illustrations of bustling markets. Also, the iconic landmarks and everyday scenes capture the essence of Vadodara’s unique character.
Our goal was to curate an experience that not only tantalises the taste buds but also evokes a sense of nostalgia and wonder at every turn, with elements from Indian streets and households.
A little fun element added is the vintage openable window feature, chaat (Chat), with the famous TOI (Times of India) cartoonist, R.K. Laxman. This is hand-painted on a column, like 3D wall art.
Additionally, the vibrant hues meet rich heritage, allowing you to experience the soulful charm of Indian street food in a setting that celebrates our colourful culture.
The black and white chevron print matte tiles, along with beige glossy tiles and a real wood floor, make way for a muted yet dramatic play of the flooring space. While the tapestry in bright solid colours and prints with polished wooden furniture adds a bold statement to the neutrals. All these elements together bind the space for a balanced aesthetic while being fun and functional.
The restaurant is on the second floor of the building and incorporates a banquet room as well for meetings and small gatherings. The huge glass front facade of the restaurant facing the main road gives a delightful view of a large green patch on the opposite side. It has lots of old trees and home to an array of birds.
Imagine dining in a restaurant with such an expansive view teeming with life, where the sight of hundreds of parrots and birds creates a living tapestry against the backdrop of verdant foliage.
As you savour your meal, the air is filled with the harmonious sounds of chirping and fluttering wings. Thus transforming the ambiance into a symphony of nature, offering a dynamic and ever-changing panoramic experience that captivates and enchants all who visit.
In summary, what we wanted to do was give the inside an outside feel with all the street art. Thus it truly gives you the vibe of being on Indian streets—a seamless transition from the outside.
