In the bustling city of Vadodara, Brownleaf Architects have crafted a marvel of home automation and theater design that stands as a testament to the power of pure white interior design. The central theme of the project is the interplay of flexible lighting against a canvas of white, challenging the conventional dark tones of a home theatre. The design team faced a significant challenge: a series of 2-foot-deep beams that dissected the ceiling space.
Their ingenious solution was to install massive, layered custom lights that not only concealed the beams but also became a striking feature of the design.
The designers transformed the wall with windows into a series of niches, each serving as a stage for a musical instrument, turning functional elements into decorative art. The challenge was to create a seamless white design that unifies diverse materials—cloth, PU paint, wall color, and texture—into a cohesive whole.
The theatre’s ceiling is adorned with a large, round-profile light that commands attention; its presence magnifies the room’s dimensions. This choice of a white theme is unconventional for a theatre setting, where darker colours are preferred to minimise distractions.
However, the architects leveraged this to their advantage, using white to create an illusion of vastness within a compact area.
One wall is seamlessly panelled with white cloth, backlit by a console arch profile light that adds depth and warmth. Opposite, fluted MDF panelling merges gracefully with the entryway, enhancing the flow of the space. A hidden bar, revealed only by an automated curtain, adds an element of surprise and luxury.
The final result is a space that exudes elegance and an elite ambiance, perfectly aligning with the client’s vision for a demonstration area for their most discerning customers. The Experience Studio by Brownleaf Architects is not just a design; it’s an immersive experience that redefines the essence of luxury in home automation and theatre design.
