Plot constitutes an area of 2250 sq.ft. The built mass is on a rectangular plot with a 15 feet setback from front and 7 feet from rear. Thus, it makes space for lawn and service area respectively. Dwarka expressway

The Idea of the house was a well ventilated, airy & minimal from conceptualization itself, with client’s inclination towards neat volumes and simplicity.

    Dwarka expressway

The client’s upbringing was in local native courtyard houses of Rajasthan, a central double height skylight was perceived as a modern interpretation of a traditional courtyard.

    Dwarka expressway

The arrangement of spaces in the design are as per the lifestyle of the clients, with Living room, Kitchen, Guest room and powder room on the ground floor.

    Dwarka expressway

First floor has a family lounge, master bedroom, 2 children’s bedrooms all planned as such that spaces are well light and naturally ventilated to have an inside outside feel.

    Vertical Volumetry

To achieve the vertical volumetry of the house, the concept introduces perforated screens in front facade. The perforated screens running from the highest level of house down to the gate, creating a sense of flow right on the facade of the house.

    Dwarka expressway

The structure begins as an arrival court characterized by green area and black granite flooring which contrast with the refined and white architecture of the house.

As we enter further, the house opens up into double height with a staircase which is the masterpiece of this house as it binds the whole house and characterize the space.

    Dwarka expressway

These spaces bathe in sunlight through light source in the form of glass bricks. The opening in the roof slabs allow the sunlight and moonlight in the area to make the space a magnificent one.

    Dwarka expressway

The Colors and materials blend in together to have a subtle contrast yet allowing the openness and airiness to be the highlight of the house rather than materials themselves.

    Dwarka expressway

The exterior has a textured granular paint, with contrasting lapato finished black and mint brown granite in floors, along with stacked terracotta jali blocks painted white making it the highlight of the house.

The Interior walls are white washable enamel paint in Burberry Exotica and Cosmos Beige Italian marble flooring to have minimal contrast. Exposed concrete ceiling and grey brick walls in double height areas adds a rustic contrast to overall white house.

The double height space connects the living room on ground floor with the family lounge in the first floor. On the way to the entrance, puja room is the highlight and is always visible upon entering.

    Choice Of Furniture

Furniture’s are minimal to allow more of open spaces and volumes to have flexibly in usage, neutral-colored laminates used for wardrobes and fixed furniture’s and almost light colors for movable furniture’s flow with character of the building.

The interiors of three bedrooms on the first floor have customized beds, study tables and book shelves considering the functions.

Bedrooms have different color schemes to bring in vibrancy and break from the overall whites of the house.

The overall built structure along Dwarka expressway and the landscape blends together to form a cozy and positive atmosphere throughout the project.
