A Narrative Between Pops of Color and Indian Textiles | Bonita Casa

    Introduction

The intricate sage green door formerly opens into the foyer that screens with a metal cutwork and wood partition. It creates a space for Mandir on the other side. Round golden trim mirror with a sleek teakwood console table & rich reindeer head knobs is enhanced by a pendant lamp.

Moving further, a towering 20 ft. double height living space welcomes one. The accent wall, which is in grey finish, certainly acts as a perfect background. It showcases the client’s tasteful collection of rich Kalighat, Pichwai and Madhubani artworks.

The foyer partition replicates in living area for screening from the bedrooms lobby and to add width to the living area seating space.

    Furniture selection

Furniture has rattan details, curvy structures for softness, round coffee table finished in kalinga stone top with wooden fluted base. It is also well complimented with layered furnishings in different colors adding depth & interest to the space.

To highlight the height, we basically used neutral curtains with a 3 ft. border for some color blocking and layering.

A dark mauve upholsters a semi-circular bar that is kept on the opposite side against the double height wall. It further clads with brick tiles, live edge floating shelves and metal wall lamps.

    Dining area

The amber color from brick tiles are flown in an interesting way by adding an arch on the dining wall.

A live edge solid wooden dining table with Windsor chairs & bench accentuates with rafters on the ceiling. Also, a soft fabric shade chandelier above the dining table adds charm. This space can indeed sway you away from the city’s concrete jungle and transports you to a quaint Parisian café.

    Kitchen

Furthermore, adjoining the dining is the kitchen with PU finish pastel color cabinets and white Kalinga countertop with white tiles.

The flooring is intricate and adds another color and dimension to the overall space.

The passage leading to all bedrooms are under an illusion of wainscoting by color blocking. A mango wood trim at furniture line further divides it.

    Master bedroom

Master bedroom is straight out of the very picturesque Jammu & Kashmir with upholstered wardrobe shutters. Brass pins, fluted teakwood headboard paneling, rattan detailed bed further make up as finishes. An elaborate metal chandelier hangs above the embroidered accent chair and floor mirror like a jewel pendant.

The wall art is a true depiction of the couple’s culture and the color flows into the curtains with neutral sheer.

    Kid’s bedroom

Study has an emerald green wall with end-to-end wooden floating desk and shelves further layered with black metallic wall sconce. Green organically flows into the kid’s bedroom into headboard.

A bespoke left oriented bunny wallpaper and a full-sized world map wallpaper on the adjoining wall keeps the child engaged.

Moreover, we have added a small chalkboard wall for all the scribbling alongside the checkered curtains on the door.

In conclusion, this home is a representation of intricate details and a celebration of the couple’s heritage, signaling their pride.
