  • This Bedroom Speaks of Refined Luxury and Comfort | The Cozy Atelier

When we talk about cozy Interiors all we have in mind is to have a space that we can call our own, space that will help us unwind and be comfortable. It should be the perfect excuse to stay back and work from home or just be there and enjoy the space around. Amidst the chaotic Mumbai traffic with heavy commotion alongside the serene breeze of the Arabian Sea is this Rose Wood Affair. It’s a 40 year old bedroom that has undergone so many varied changes. This bedroom speaks of refined luxury and comfort right from it being only a 150 Sq.ft bedroom to now being a 300 Sq.ft long bedroom for two.

This 40 Year old bedroom has undergone massive changes from the room size to the look of the room. Over the years, it has catered to different kinds of people belonging to different generations and now finally having siblings of the GEN-z use it speaks volume of the space and the design that we innovated for them.

This 300 Sq.ft room is a home to a pair of siblings who share unique backgrounds. Both had different mindsets and imagination for their bedroom but we could simplify that with our design and get them both to agree and ultimately love the final outlook of the room.

We underwent a major transformation right from breaking the 40 year old double layered flooring to breaking the walls, remaking and levelling them and to remaking the entire ceiling.

This room was specially designed in a way to provide a feel of openness to the space by having a full height mirror panelling perfect to make the room look bigger than it actually is.

This was the highlight point of the room because it;s amplifying the space than what it actually is which is ultimately benefiting the design aesthetics.

For Material Palette we wanted to go something all out, something that was in trend but also that would make us feel warm and cozy. So we decided to do walnut and wine palette along with a tinge of tinted glass shutters adding the perfect depth to the space.

The Step-Up area was specially thought of for the wardrobe so it’s a completely designated space to get ready alongside a 10′ long dressing table covered with glass and ample storage on side.

Everything was double – the beds, side table, overhead storage and wardrobes but to not make it look obvious we designed the wardrobes facing each other. The Ispira Marble Flooring is the cherry on the cake for this space; it’s the perfect material blending completely with the walnut.

We also had a huge storage to cater to the daily necessities of the house so we made a 4’x10′ huge storage but made it look less bulkier by adding open and chic niches. The Black marble on the furniture is the breaker for texture. The lounger is the most required spot alongside the window for sipping a hot cuppa coffee and seeing the beautiful arabian see.

All in all this space is for fresh finds, unwinding, rewiring with yourself and finding a space that you can truly call yours.
