A sublime workspace that compels one to think creatively and that communicates its motives, agendas, and ethics in the right way instills the most perfect vibe. It ought to be lively and thought-provoking to enhance one’s mood. One such workspace for an advertising agency is designed by Kstudio Designs, Ahmedabad. The design and the concept are derived from the firm’s logo. In fact, the colors from the logo makes up and conquer the color palette where boisterous hues and utilitarian traits amp up this modern-day workspace. The core intention was to create a workspace that is eccentric and uncluttered in its design and elements. Three materials – metal, wood, and exposed concrete are all that this office amalgamates. The client brief elaborated on creativity in all corners to tether to the firm’s agenda. Also, it had to be boisterous with minimal aesthetics that would interlace those utilitarian vibes.
“The splash of warm and affectionate yellow at regular intervals accommodates the rawness of this office space and its grey walls are artistically complementary.”- Nishal Sevak(Co-Editor)

This workspace is divided into three sections- the meeting area, the working area, and the main cabin. The concept derives a sorted and vibrant interior that appends to using the metal and its slenderness. A definite grey for the floor works in creating a perfect canvas thus holding onto the other furnishings. An etched glass door welcomes one into a small vestibule that works as a transition space with a veneer cladding on its right and a metal jali on the left.
This leads to the core workspace of 16 x 13 feet where the grey floor extends to wrap up the wall and in turn merges with the exposed concrete ceiling. This provides neatly wrapped-up surfaces that perceptually work as a single entity for the furnishings.
The longer walls are well-lit to highlight their whereabouts. One of the longer walls has a graphical design portraying the ethics the team abides by. The chosen colors are white, grey, and yellow- the extension of the company logo. The other wall has a storage cum display unit done with wood and fabricated metal. It is left open keeping it light and generous and not giving a heavy outlook.
Interestingly, the beam is highlighted with a vibrant yellow hue to light up the space. Otherwise, the exposed concrete ceiling gives a raw natural look. The central worktable below it is done in wood with a grey table top and translucent yellow partitions. Thus, instilling a sense of teamwork while establishing a sense of privacy for each.
The catchiest of all is the niche for discussion and meetings. This is a must-have in a modern-day work scenario where open discussions, timely meetings, and tea-time causal talks are healthier. It also provides a room for a temporary alternate workspace for individuals. This area is accorded with a raised wooden floor and a warm yellow hanging light. It is surrounded by see-through metal jali, a wall installation, and a graphical installation.
Two comfy chairs and a round table take the center. Its rear wall is where the heart lies. It is a work of art where organic shapes are overlaid in descending sizes. An interplay of yellow and white superiorly works in instilling that sense of modernity. The symbolism on the shorter wall is an abstract form of a brain and bulb with graphical fonts that portray their work and ideals.
The main cabin, again, has an exposed ceiling and services. Here, the signature feature is the brick wall dually painted in yellow and white keeping the ordinary at bay. Wall frames include a few quirky quotes lightening up the air.
The table uses metal and wood- metal to achieve a slender look and the wood demarcates the substantial volume of the furniture. A blue comfy sofa is included in this space for convenience and comfort.
The office for the advertising company perfectly does justice to the client brief with its uncluttered and boisterous outlook. Indeed, a lively space to keep up an amplified work environment all day long.
