1. The Monochromatic Room
We designed this peculiar playroom for a little girl which wasn’t a usual blue or pink. When we got a call from the client she wanted a playroom for her daughter which she would never outgrow. We quickly started putting up a material palette.
We thought it would be best to go for neutral tones, so we decided to have white PU, birch ply for the natural wood finish and bamboo sofas. Being it a playroom, A Bunk had to be there to add playfulness. We made a large level where 5-6 kids could accommodate and a nice slide along.
We were working on a very tight timeline and the huge walls needed some character. We added prints and patterns with a jungle themed wallpaper from @wallpaperscissor. The space had to be open and free for the kids to have ultimate fun and adventure.
A small table with 4 cute rainbow chairs were added in a nook for all their kitty parties. The natural bamboo sofas complimented the PU and they were perfect for the room to look comfy and warm.
We used no colours and a monochrome palette and accessories it with a lot of soft plushies, cute rugs and colourful accents.
2. A Coral Joy
This pastel themed room featuring a bunk-bed was inspired by the colours the 10yr old reflected in her artwork. We added some drama with a house shaped structured and a slide.
The hand-woven macrame curtain by @terralivingbyjenita adds warmth and creates a cosy upper level for some fun and adventure. The whole idea was to be minimalistic and create a clutter free space.
We we transformed the nook near the window into a unique sitting area adorned with colourful curtains and plush peach upholstery.
The study area was by the window with ample storage and open spaces for her artwork and collectibles.
The end result is a space that look curiously like a home personalized with collectibles and awash with natural light.
