The offices are in a charming lush green area around the university campus. It comprises a waiting area, two counseling rooms, a reception area, an area for admissions managers and callers with an admissions head office, and an admissions senior counselor’s cabin. In addition, there is a marketing area designed on the opposite side, consisting of a marketing office along with the marketing head’s cabin, and a marketing studio for video shoots & digital marketing.

The client’s brief was to create a simple and neat yet modern-looking student counseling space for university admission. The concept began by creating spaces consisting of minimal materials and shades, with an approach to incorporate interesting details and generating an experience of more than just an office space for a creative work environment.

The idea was to keep the entire space visually open and large see-through glass and full-height doors. In addition, the entire walls and ceilings are kept white to make it look more extensive.

In the interiors, except for the work tables, the furnishings are also kept in sync with the white tones, although, the carpet floor is totally in contrasting blue tones, that simply cuts the all-white look. To emphasize the ambiance of the spaces, the designer used two sets of lighting; defused and profile. Profile lighting also merges with the linear style of the paneling as well as the opaque bands on the glass partitions.

The entire office block has a VRV system with cassette ACs flushing the false ceiling, which results in neat & clean-looking spaces. Besides the large-looking space creation, the designer was keen to include compelling details in the project.

One of these details was that the designer raised the dry mdf laminated wall partitions by 10mm from the floor which helps in resisting the damage due to moisture in existing flooring during monsoon.

Also, this detail transforms the wall into a breathable element and avoids the damage due to thermal expansion & contraction. The 10mm gap between the floor & dry partition also helps terminate the carpet inside the groove and also keeps the carpet flooring seamless, omitting the additional aluminum skirtings all around. Weatherproof silicon was also used between the brick walls and mdf partitions to keep away moisture from the wood and at the same time help in thermal expansion & contraction due to heat & cold weather, without damaging the joints.
