The Archive Home is not just a home—it’s a narrative of two extraordinary souls who call themselves wildlife enthusiasts. Their journeys take them deep into the wilderness every few months, capturing rare frames that have found their way into renowned magazines and the wider world of wildlife. Add to that a husband who can mesmerize with his guitar and voice, and a wife who is his partner in every adventure—and you begin to see the spirit of this home. Together, with their young child, they have built a soulful home that feels as soulful as the story it holds.
This Soulful Home Is A Narrative Of Two Extraordinary Souls | By The Riverside
The entire soulful home reflects their love for wood and stone—seen in every corner, wrapped with textured stone walls, distressed finishes, and raw timber details. Live-edge wood furniture pieces, sculpted from the wilderness itself, bring the outdoors inside while maintaining a sense of timeless calm.
The living room anchors the home with a large, tropical art piece by a celebrated artist—a work they instantly knew belonged in their space. It sets the tone for the home’s aesthetic: modern yet rooted, expressive yet serene.
The media room, drenched in a deep green that continues across walls and ceiling, creates an intense yet cocooned environment. It’s a space where their two worlds—photography and music—collide beautifully; where late-night guitar sessions meet the quiet review of their latest captures from the wild.
One of the most loved corner’s of this soulful home emerged not from a 3D render, but from trust and instinct. A quaint coffee station by the metal window grill. It was an idea the couple had always cherished. It came to life on site, a spontaneous addition during one of many visits. That moment reminded us how invaluable it is when clients place absolute faith in our process. When they trust us enough to let design evolve naturally.
In the master bedroom, every texture tells a story. The wardrobe, with its distressed finish, captures their love for raw, organic materiality. One corner of the room holds a stone-clad wall layered with concrete and illuminated by a jute pendant light—an earthy vignette that feels both grounded and poetic. For us, The Archive Home was not just another project, but a slice of the wilderness, in every grain of wood.
“Designing this home was far from easy. The scheme may appear simple, but every corner needed to reflect their journey and passion. In moments of differing perspectives, Swatee and Bibhav reminded me of the trust they had placed in By the Riverside—a trust that became the true foundation of our collaboration. Their generosity of spirit left a deep mark on us.
With every stage of design and execution, they never ceased to acknowledge even the smallest detail we created in the process, showing a rare gratitude for our craft and our team. Even today, their words of appreciation echo back to us—reminders of why we do what we do.” — Swati Seraan
The Archive Home stands as a timeless reflection of two lives intertwined with nature, creativity, and trust—a home that, much like the wilderness they love, will only grow richer with time.
