Balsu’s residence is a Scandinavian style house spanning across 4000 sq. ft., where spaces seamlessly merge. High-quality materials adorn the interiors, promising luxury. From the living room, dining area, bedroom, dry kitchen and wet kitchen on the ground floor to the family lounge, bedrooms, pooja room, study area, sit-out on the first floor, and a home theatre, laundry room and terrace on the second floor, each room showcases thoughtful design.
Classic handcrafted beadings on the walls, sleek mouldings in the false ceiling, light fittings, wallpapers, and the light, complex shade of the walls contribute to the Scandinavian aesthetic. Our clients desired a scandinavian style house that balanced domestic cosiness with luxury and comfort. Their emphasis on clean lines, meticulous workmanship, and harmony ensured a pristine and inviting atmosphere throughout the house.
This Scandinavian Style House is a Space Where Spaces Seamlessly Merge | Glow Spaces
The result is a rich and warm ambience, crafted with beautiful design aesthetics that bring Hyderabad home to life. In conclusion, the design focuses on achieving a perfect balance between functionality, cosiness, and serenity. The palette predominantly features shades of white and beige, with subtle highlights in blue or green. Classic wallpapers, textured upholstery, and some quirky art bring freshness to the space. We wanted the design elements to stand out as the highlights, so in a deliberate attempt, we didn’t add too many eye-catching art forms and stuck to simple frames, albeit with some fun, coloured art in spots.
The entrance foyer of this house features Scandinavian style with soft-toned PU finish paneling and delicate mouldings, seamlessly opening into the living area and dining area. The main door is elegantly adorned with a moulding, a carved motif, and a beautiful handle, blending effortlessly with the walls to enhance the flow within space.
The coffered ceiling, finished in PU, is the area’s highlight. The free-flowing design prioritises natural light, ventilation, and easy movement throughout different areas.
Off-white walls are complemented by beige marble, while the classic coffered ceiling enhances the grandeur.
The design is further elevated with elegant furniture and crystalline chandeliers from Abu Dhabi, adding timeless luxury.
The family lounge radiates elegance, comfort, and charm. Cosy sofas, woven fabrics, and comfortable cushions lend a welcoming vibe to the space. The lovely, colourful pouffes bring a vibrant pop of colour to the space.
This lovely living space features two simple pieces of wall art that are paired beautifully with the simple colour palette in the rest of the room. The striking Bali murals add a touch of exotic artistry.
The beautifully crafted dining table in this dining area serves as both a functional piece and a statement of artistry. The soft-toned panelling provides a warm, inviting backdrop, which is complemented by the floral wallpaper above, adding a touch of nature’s serenity indoors.
The mirror on the ceiling, positioned above the dining table, amplifies the sense of space and light, reflecting the room’s beauty. The brisk lift is so compact and fits appropriately in space.
A bright colour on one wall, contrasted with monochromatic hues on the cabinets, adds a vibrant and lively touch. The island in the centre of the dry kitchen serves as a focal point, offering both functionality and style.
The hanging lights above the island enhance the kitchen’s aesthetic while the crockery from Abu Dhabi adds an exotic flair to the space.
The mandir, a sacred and embracing part of the project, is carefully curated and adorned with Tanjore paintings.
In the study area, floral Nilaya wallpaper above the white shiplap paneling graces the accent wall, creating a beautiful backdrop with its florets of dainty blooms that draw everyone’s attention.
This choice maintains a neo-classical touch and is highlighted brilliantly by keeping the rest of the room simple and sober.
The master bedroom is adorned in single-toned decor, with a majestic four-poster bed serves as the centerpiece.
Textured wallpaper adds depth and character to the walls, complemented by delicate mouldings that create a classic backdrop for the bed.
The PU finish wardrobe shutters in the walk-in closet exude classic charm with their moulding details and brushed brass hardware.
Plain walls complement the grey classic bed and dresser. The geometric-patterned curtains add eclectic charm.
The plain grey laminate on the wardrobe shutters, featuring classic gold handles, stands out in the walk-in closet. The 2′ x 2′ Moroccan tile countertop in the bathroom against the neutral hues of the walls, forms a vintage ensemble and adds a stylish touch to the space.
An additional material to the palette, the cane maintains incredible warmth and serves as the focal point of this room. The muted light green walls, rustic wooden furniture, cushions, and bedside lamps not only enhance the ambiance but also provide functionality.
Wooden rafters, placed at intervals, adorn the ceiling to complement this setup, adding architectural charm. Moreover, these rafters add a rustic appeal to the bedroom without hindering the minimalist design.
The wardrobe shutters in the walk-in closet, finished with veneer and cane also radiate classic charm, complemented by ceramic handles.
A dynamic blue door with delicate gold work highlights the entrance to the home theatre, setting a luxurious tone. Inside, the home theatre features carpeted beige flooring, blue decorative panels adorned with luxurious fabrics and ornate light fixtures, and a projector screen, creating a cosy and opulent space that enhances the overall cinematic experience. Moreover, the theatre seating, with stepped flooring, ensures an optimal view of the screen for the viewers.
The hand-painted mural set against the grey ceiling and walls creates a dramatic aura in the sit-out. Additionally, the subdued grey tones provide a sophisticated backdrop that contrasts with the vivid colors and intricate details of the mural.
Moreover, the mural’s composition and colours draw attention, creating a focal point that enriches the atmosphere of the sit-out with depth and artistic expression. This harmonious blend of subdued and vibrant elements enhances the overall aesthetic appeal and creates a captivating environment in the sit-out.
