The Mango Orchard is a dialogue between architecture and nature. Located somewhere amongst the serene, lush green hills of Konkan, Maharashtra amid a lush mango orchard, the luxury villa design emerges as a gentle intrusion, weaving a subtle dialogue between the luxurious yet understated interiors and the greens of the exterior. The plane of the entire 12,000 ft² bungalow is raised for the view of the orchid foliage and a view of the surrounding vista from the floors above.
This Luxury Villa Design Is A Dialogue Between Architecture And Nature | Sejpal Associates
Upon entering the villa, one is struck by a seamless integration of indoor and outdoor spaces. The glass facade encompasses the villa. Thus, providing a sense of connection to nature. Additionally, it creates a tranquil oasis in the heart of the entire plot.
The entry leads to a glass facade offering uninterrupted views of the natural surroundings, merging architecture and nature. It’s a feeling where opulence meets the serenity of the expansive living room, the dining area, and the kitchen, all merged seamlessly into one another.
The staircase is located on one side and the lift on the other so that the triple-height glass of the living space stands out. The true ‘piece de resistance’ is the villa’s master bedroom with a terrace pool, viewing gallery, theater, gym, etc.
The viewing gallery protruding on the highest point of the villa offers a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains and the sea. The outdoor garden converts into a barbeque area or a small party space.
The entire villa has a young vibe; the muted color palette with a dash of you in certain spaces, complemented by an abundance of natural light, creates a sense of calmness and sophistication.
The most thoughtful and breathtaking design element is the motorized skylight in the living room with a cantilever reading area. The design speaks modern contemporary language, characterized by clean lines, minimal ornamentation, and an emphasis on horizontal and vertical planes.
The facade facing the orchard is a combination of natural stone, local laterite, wood, and glass. Thus, creating a visually striking and environmentally responsive exterior.
This master bedroom has a lavish 600 sft bathroom in natural colors and small balconies, chatting out for a quiet evening tea with birds chirping. The other bedrooms with poster beds offer a rustic charm. The multilevel recreation areas created in the entire space offer a lot of choice to interact.
In keeping with the concept of harmony with nature, we as designers have kept sustainability at the core throughout the execution of the project. Additionally, it uses locally sourced and reclaimed stone known as Chera and local laterite stone.
Since the villa is located in the tropical belt, it gets abundant rainfall. Hence, a comprehensive rainwater system is in place along with other energy-efficient systems. This villa is an ode to nature and luxurious living, serene and sophisticated at the same time. Additionally, it exudes the power of a thoughtful design.
