Editor’s Note: “Nestled in Delhi, this home seamlessly merges Indian charm with modern serenity. Expansive windows flood the space with light, while a mural wall and floral accents create tranquil retreats. The playful cloud ceiling and neutral palette embody a harmonious connection with nature, offering refined comfort and luxury.” ~Shagun Shah
This House In New Delhi Suits the Demanding Occupants Lives | Navrasa Interior Design Studio
“Serene Sanctuary,” nestled in the heart of Delhi, is tailored to suit the demanding lives of its occupants. A renovation project comes with its own set of challenges. The major one here is the lack of sunlight coming in, even though the direction of the house was perfect!
We immediately brought large windows in the home to flood it with natural light.
Our personal favourite has to be the mural wall in the living area. It gives a sense of a meditation space amongst nature.
In essence, the client’s brief and vision for their house in New Delhi were to embody a harmonious connection with nature where natural light floods through windows. Thus casting a gentle glow that dances upon the onyx and marble surfaces adorning the living and dining areas.
The neutral palette and their affinity for murals and rattan were prominently expressed during the brainstorming sessions. This has been incorporated into the design to fulfil their desire to create picturesque moments within the home.
Soft fabrics in muted tones with some pop of colours gracefully adorn the seating. Thus exuding a quiet elegance that invites relaxation.
The winner in the kids bedroom has to be the cloud ceiling which resonates with childhood dreams and playfulness.
It helps the kid to be in his own world and to give him a feeling of being under the sky and lost in his dreams.
The use of floral wallpaper in the master bedroom keeps the room very lively. It also resembles the way you will feel in a garden full of flowers.
The space throughout the home has been kept very cluster free so that even a small apartment gives him an open feel to grow and imagine, like a kid wants.
The sunlight coming through the large windows, floral wallpapers and the beautiful colours picked up for this home keeps you as close to nature as possible.
Together, these elements create an atmosphere of refined comfort. Here every piece serves as a testament to the art of understated luxury.
