This home renovation project in Sewri, Mumbai, merges a 2 BHK and a 3 BHK into a luxurious 4 BHK to accommodate a family of six—parents and two daughters. Located on the 21st floor, the site boasts stunning views of the newly constructed Trans Harbour Link Road and the Arabian Sea. The design focuses on creating a harmonious space that caters to the unique aesthetic and functional needs of each family member, with Vastu principles guiding the material and colour selections.
The renovation project divides the apartment home into distinct zones while expanding the rooms for maximum space utilization. The living room, forming the central hub, has a ‘T’ shaped layout. The center serves as the formal living area, with the right corner dedicated to the dining space and the left corner transformed into an informal seating area with a bar.

The right side of the apartment accommodates the two daughters’ bedrooms, a guest bedroom, a powder bathroom, and a utility area. Despite the challenge of a 9’6” ceiling height due to the building’s older construction, the design makes the most of the available space. On the left side, the master bedroom features a master bath and a walk-in wardrobe, along with a spacious kitchen.
The renovation project embraces a blend of modern minimalism and contemporary aesthetics, ensuring a clean and uncluttered design while incorporating stylish, up-to-date elements. Each space is thoughtfully crafted to reflect simplicity and functionality, with sleek lines, muted color palettes, and carefully selected materials that resonate with both modern and contemporary design philosophies.
The living areas balance minimalistic design with contemporary touches, creating a serene yet sophisticated atmosphere. The furniture and decor pieces are curated to enhance the sense of space, offering a refined and elegant environment for the family to enjoy. This combination of styles not only enhances the visual appeal but also adds a timeless quality to the home, making it both current and enduring.
The home features an expansive use of grey marble, providing a sleek and cohesive foundation throughout. To break the monotony of the marble flooring, the entryway has been designed with a distinct pattern, offering a welcoming contrast.
The walls are adorned with elegant French moulding, adding timeless beauty and character to the space. A metal band gracefully runs through the living rooms, introducing a touch of modern sophistication.
The living room ceiling, painted in a luxurious metallic texture, further enhances the opulence of the space, creating a truly refined atmosphere.
Furthermore, the kitchen, designed for durability and practical use by the staff, features a simple layout with granite counter tops and laminate finishes, prioritizing functionality.
To add a touch of elegance to the otherwise simple space, flutter shutters have been included, highlighting the overall design.
Master bedroom
As the largest room in the apartment, the goal was to maintain an open and luxurious feel. Moreover, the wardrobe shutters, finished in striking chevron metallic paint, serve as the room’s focal point. Thus, contrasting beautifully with the muted texture of the walls and the understated bed setting.
A motorized curtain elegantly separates the walk-in wardrobe from the rest of the room, enhancing both functionality and style.
The black marble basin wall serves as the striking focal point of the bathroom, beautifully contrasted against the white lilac marble-clad walls. Moreover, the design thoughtfully incorporates accents of rose gold, adding a touch of luxury and elegance to the space.
Guest bedroom
The guest bedroom is the smallest room in the house. Moreover, it embraces a minimalist design with only a bed and a console. Thus, creating a sleek and uncluttered space.
Daughter’s bedrooms
Furthermore, both of the daughter’s rooms are enveloped in tactile textures. Thus, creating a serene and calming atmosphere.
Additionally, the wardrobe doors, crafted from tinted glass, add a touch of elegance against the subtly textured walls. With Vastu principles guiding the design, one of the rooms features rafters in the ceiling and arched walls that form a dramatic backdrop for the bed, enhancing the overall ambience.
