Upon entering, the compact and effectively conceived foyer defines the home, priming the palette in anticipation of what lies within. An expansive arched mirror with black molding and a shoe rack swathed in teak and black laminate finish border the space along one side, adorning the wall and setting the stage for the grandeur that awaits. As one continues to explore, the foyer subtly reveals glimpses of the lounge area and dining area. It moreover teases one with its vastness and inviting ambiance.
The heart of the house boasts of a double-height dining area with a black-and white canvas and soaring ceiling. This space immediately captures attention with the panda marble dining table and black and white dining chairs. Hence, blending seamlessly with the staircase finish. The centrally placed metal light fixture transcends mere functionality and serves as a significant centerpiece, which is a feast for one’s eyes.
Stepping to the right of the dining area, the living room gracefully unfolds with soft contours. Thus, further harmonizing the diverse elements and hues of the house. The arched accent wall immediately lures one’s sight with a burst of warmth emanating from the yellow textured wallpaper. This forms a captivating focal point.
Offsetting this is a calming cream sofa in a minimalist design with brass accents. Additionally, it adds a touch of elegance to the room’s aesthetic. While the black and white patterned chair adds fluidity and continuity, the contrasting leafy green hues used in the brass bench, 2-part coffee table and décor add sophistication and magnificence to the space.
The flooring and color palette establish a seamless flow into the other side of the open layout with family lounge and mandir. Refurbishing the sofa and chair added textures and patterns, giving them umber warmth with robust yet minimal aesthetics. This further, creates a tactile experience in the space. Pieced together in a wooden, black and white color scheme, the television console occupies the wall across from the conversation space. The northeastern pocket features a bespoke pooja room designed with a white aesthetic. The counter along with an arched and carved back-lit back panel finished in Corian, create a delicate portal into the sanctum.
As one moves to the first floor, the passage acts as a library/lounge area and further leads to the three bedrooms. The brief for this area from the clients was simple: to build a functional and aesthetically soothing space for their nuclear family where they can display all the books they have collected throughout the years while enjoying a cup of tea after a tedious work day. Thereupon, a clean line and clutter-free floor-to-ceiling storage was designed with carefully chosen decor to highlight all the vividly colorful books. To set off the subtle wall unit, vibrant lounge chairs have been designed. This gives a character to the space while exhibiting a contemplative, calm atmosphere.
Continuing the journey to the son’s bedroom, the room wasn’t naturally well-lit; therefore, using dark colors was not suitable. With earthy colors and material palettes in soothing warm beige hues and wooden textures, the room sits as a pinnacle of tranquility wrapped in a bohemian vibe. The most outstanding feature of the room is the rattan bed which embraces simplicity and calmness in its design. Enhancing its visual appeal and contributing to the overall sophistication of the room is the vibrant and bold art work on the bed wall.
In contrast, the master bedroom displays a soft and cozy ambiance with the hues of blue and white, designed to be a haven of relaxation after a long day. The fluted bed wall and TV wall incorporate texture, along with matching grooves on the wardrobe shutters overall adds a touch of grace to the space.
The pattern in the light fixture, bed, and accent chair adds much-needed depth to the otherwise straight-lined space. With its blend of hues and comfort, the master bedroom creates an ideal environment for recharging and rejuvenation.
A bold yet playful colorful wallpaper and pastel colors of green and pink have been used in the daughter’s bedroom to counterbalance it from all the other spaces. Accentuated by the patterned wall, a wavy pastel pink bed was designed to enliven the room further. An interesting mix of green and yellow has been used in the furniture and light fixtures to evoke a sense of excitement and cohesiveness.
Overall, the residence highlights the richness of hues with the use of a warm and inviting color palette against a muted canvas, transforming the space into a haven of style and comfort.
