The Renovation of Kattima Group’s 26-year-old office signifies the Company’s journey—from its origins as a granite Exporter to its Diversification into hospitality, property development, and beyond. Spanning 2,200 sqft, the new corporate headquarters embodies both Continuity and transformation, weaving the Company’s legacy into a contemporary narrative of design and Functionality.

The guiding principle of the Renovation of the corporate headquarters was to honour the past while Embracing the future. They carefully Retained and Restored the original granite elements—flooring, stone Tabletops, and furniture—so they could serve as Tangible reminders of the Company’s roots. At the same time, the design Introduces fresh perspectives, spatial Openness, and a refined material palette that reflects Kattima Group’s Evolving identity.
One of the most significant challenges lay in Preserving the original Kashmir White granite Flooring, which had suffered Discoloration over time. Areas beneath fixed furniture had Absorbed varnish stains, leaving Yellow-brown patches across the surface.
Professional stone restorers employed meticulous chemical treatments, curing processes, and multiple layers of polish to revive the granite’s natural sheen. The team relocated stones from less visible areas to the entryway and corridors. This approach ensured consistent visual quality throughout the office.
The redesigned layout of the corporate headquarters reflects both efficiency and cultural sensitivity. The design team integrated seven private cabins and two open workstations. They also included file storage and a spacious conference room while being in Vastu compliance. They also gave the heirloom granite conference table, the office’s centrepiece, pride of place in the new scheme.
Natural light floods the work areas and cabins, reducing reliance on artificial illumination and enhancing the wellbeing of occupants. Indoor plants thrive in this environment, reinforcing the biophilic quality of the workspace. The reception area, adjoining the east-facing pooja, features sliding glass partitions that allow the space to expand during gatherings, festivals, and ceremonies—an elegant nod to cultural inclusivity.
Granite, the company’s foundational material, is celebrated throughout the office as a defining feature. At the entrance, a striking wall of Viscount White granite with dramatic black patches—slabs that would typically be rejected—has been reimagined as an abstracted mountain landscape. This sculptural gesture pays homage to quarries and hills, grounding visitors in the company’s origins.
In the pantry, a vibrant mosaic backsplash composed of sample stones collected over two decades transforms discarded fragments into a tapestry of colour and memory. Cool-toned granite, juxtaposed with warm wood finishes, creates a balanced atmosphere of calm sophistication.
The interiors embrace a restrained yet luxurious palette. Cool-toned granites in shades of grey, white, blue, and black are paired with White Oak veneer and subtle metallic accents in champagne gold and graphite grey. This deliberate coolness contrasts with the warm teak tones of the previous interiors, signalling a fresh chapter in the company’s design languag

Madhumita Gokuldas of Studio Kattima. “By elevating granite from a utilitarian material to a symbolic feature, the project bridges past and present, crafting a headquarters that is both a tribute to origins and a vision for the future.”
