We recently completed the renovation of a 4 BHK duplex house interior design where simplicity is the real sophistication. Our client’s family approached us, requesting a renovation for their apartment. They knew they wanted something more aligned with their personalities. While the clients did not have a full understanding of what we had in mind, they did trust us completely. And the outcome is a charming minimalist modern home.

The duplex house, before the renovation, was ample for day-to-day living but short on design. The finishes were outdated, and the layout did not do justice to the available carpet area. We knew we had to work on capturing natural light and improving the layout. While working on renovating the space, we were going to re-use most of the existing furniture. The client did not wish to give a false ceiling; hence, lighting had to be carefully planned.
The entrance foyer forms the first impression of a home’s design story. So, we knew we couldn’t skimp on it! This part of the duplex uses muted colors, but sticks to tones of beige to make sure it feels inviting. The design statement here is the recessed wall feature, adding texture as well as accent lighting. The foyer bench and credenza also add some much-needed functionality.
The most conspicuous part of the renovation was removing the old concrete staircase, which occupied the central part of the home and was the first thing visible at the entrance. A stunning transformation in the home is seen as the old concrete mass gives way to a sleek and modern spiral metal staircase.
This new focal point adds an air of contemporary elegance with its minimalist design and graceful curves. The light metal construction not only brings a sense of openness to the space but also allows natural light to filter through, creating a brighter and more inviting atmosphere.
With its seamless integration into the home’s aesthetic, this stylish staircase becomes more than just a functional element—it becomes a statement piece that elevates the entire ambiance of your living space.
The drawing room is a cozy sanctuary of comfort and charm. Soft, plush furnishings beckon you to sink in and unwind, while ambient lighting creates an inviting atmosphere. Moreover, the earthy tones of the decor, from warm neutrals to rich wood accents, evoke a sense of tranquility and connection to nature.

Kitchen: Step into our inviting open kitchen, where culinary delights meet convivial gatherings. The heart of the home, this space seamlessly blends cooking and socializing. Moving further, your gaze is drawn to the elegant bar unit overlooking the dining area, creating a natural focal point for entertaining.
Beyond the bar, the kitchen exudes both functionality and charm. With its spacious layout and modern appliances, it’s a chef’s dream come true. Additionally, the window, which was earlier hidden in the utility area, now allows plenty of natural light to illuminate the space!
Meanwhile, the dining area, bathed in natural light from expansive windows, has a heavy 6-seater modern-wood dining table that was re-furbished to blend with the theme of the interior. The open layout ensures everyone feels connected, fostering a sense of togetherness.
Climbing onto 1st floor, the lounge area boasts a mid-century sofa and a TV unit, perfect for unwinding after a long day. Additionally, the warm hues of the furniture and decor create a soothing atmosphere.
With the sleek TV unit as the focal point, complete with all the entertainment essentials, this space strikes a balance between comfort and functionality. Moreover, in the open area of lounge, the dramatic play of organic shapes can be seen in railing designs for visual interest. Thus adding a sense of movement to the space.
In the master bedroom sophistication meets tranquility. This verdant backdrop of pastel green wallpaper serves as a canvas for the luxurious wooden textures that adorn the room. Thus infusing it with warmth and timeless charm.
The existing wooden-framed bed was given a facelift with a new headboard in neutral tones that complements the wood, creating a harmonious blend of textures and colours that invite restful slumber.
Moving further, a walk-in cupboard, resplendent in jade green hues, offers ample storage space for wardrobe essentials and accessories. The jade green colour scheme adds a refreshing pop of colour to the room. Thus infusing it with a sense of vitality and freshness.
Concluding the design journey of a 4BHK duplex house interior where functionality meets aesthetics. Thus, every corner of this abode has been meticulously crafted to resonate with the lifestyle and personality of its inhabitants.
From the grandeur of the living room, where spaces and furniture invite conversations and relaxation, to the cozy ambiance of the bedrooms, each space tells a story of comfort and style. Careful attention to detail is given in every aspect of the interiors, from the choice of materials to the play of light and shadow.
They thoughtfully incorporated storage solutions to keep clutter at bay, ensuring a serene living environment. However, in this duplex apartment, form truly meets function, creating an oasis of luxury and comfort for its residents to cherish and call home.
Guest bedroom on the lower floor: this room exudes warmth and charm, making visitors feel at home. The delicate pattern of wallpaper adds a touch of vintage elegance to the room without overwhelming the senses. Additionally, a beautiful bay window is the focal point of the room.
It extends outward, creating a small alcove that floods the room with natural light. They refurbished the existing queen-sized bed with a tufted headboard upholstered in soft beige and heather-shaded fabric. Crisp white linens dress the bed, complemented by a collection of throw pillows that echo the colours of the wallpaper and window blinds.
The teenage daughter’s bedroom has a blend of antique charm with fresh, youthful touches. Delicate floral wallpaper in white and grey adorns the walls, creating a serene ambiance. The heart of the room features a queen-size wooden bed, elegantly enhanced with a distressed paint method that adds character and elegance.
Complementing the vintage aesthetic, the room has a sliding wardrobe in laminate and wicker. The bedroom combines antique elegance with cosy, personal touches to create a space that is both timeless and uniquely hers.
The young boy’s room is where functionality meets style. The heart of the room centres around a cleverly integrated Murphy bed. Finished in a wooden texture, the bed exudes warmth and sophistication, while its fold-out design maximises floor space, making it ideal for a growing child’s room. A carefully curated moodboard reflects the vibrant spirit and personality of the young occupant.
The feedback from the youngest family member is quite motivating for us: “I like everything about my room. Especially the Murphy bed, because it gives me so much space to play and use the bed whenever I need it. I don’t think I will ever get bored in my room.”
