The clients chose this 3-bedroom house for its serenity within a bustling society of 15 years. Amidst the serene walks in the woods, the stillness of standing and staring, the dance of fireflies, and the warmth of catching the sun’s rays lies the cosiness of countryside living yet with a yearning for the comfort and vibrancy of urban life. With this fervour, a young couple wanted a home for themselves, their toddler, and their visiting parents. The open layout beckoned them, and they envisioned enhancing it with an earthy, cosy, and comfortable ambiance.

Thus, this 3-bedroom house was reimagined in a modern cottage style, integrating natural textures with bold hues, arches with clean lines, and a blend of muted tones with bright vibes. While the communal spaces exude calmness, the other rooms radiate their unique colour palette yet seamlessly merge into the overall urban cottage theme. Also, the good times begin at the foyer, where a light oak ambience greets framed by an arched entryway. This space sets the tone for the entire home, combining style with functionality through a well-integrated shoe cabinet, mirror, and comfortable seater.
The living and dining areas come together as one cohesive space, with the theme of curves and straight lines. Each open entryway is gracefully shaped into arches, a design language echoed in the TV and curio unit, as well as the crockery and bar units. Overhead, rafters stretch across the ceiling, adding a rustic touch. All the arches and rafters romance against a backdrop of light charcoal grey vitrified tiled flooring and muted beige textured walls. Ambience, which only gets punctuated with breezy blue textured seaters.
The second arch of the living room leads into a compact kitchen, where a dominant royal blue and white palette evokes the charm of a quaint Parisian pâtisserie. This cosy space, with its delightful colour scheme and veneer panelled window, adds a touch of a classical cottagish elegance to the home.
In the master bedroom, the interplay of curves and straight lines continues, enriched with lush green and rattan tones. The wardrobe, bed, and study-cum-TV unit harmonise in this earthy retreat. Thus, creating a space that feels grounded and serene yet full of character.
Moving further, the daughter’s bedroom is a blush haven, featuring Ashwood flooring and furniture in a soft oak-blush combination. A tucked-in platform bed, wallpaper-sandwiched shutters, and a cosy study area also create a charming and functional space. A chalkboard wall on the fourth side invites creativity, with everything thoughtfully designed to be within the toddler’s reach, ensuring both beauty and accessibility.
The guest bedroom is a straightforward yet inviting space. Thus, featuring a customised bed and an arched puja unit, both integrated with elegant fluted panelling. However, the true highlight of this room is the cosy window seat. It is a perfect spot for relaxation, adding charm and comfort to the space.
