The design celebrates fluidity with open floor plan house. Here, the design philosophy of this 26th-floor Bengaluru residence revolves around celebrating its altitude by framing breathtaking city views and embracing the calming influence of natural light. It focuses on creating a harmonious relationship between nature and interior space by using earthy, tactile materials and a layout that encourages openness, fluidity, and serenity. Every design decision is rooted in enhancing the homeowner’s everyday experience, inviting the outdoors in, crafting soulful spaces, and elevating simple moments through thoughtful spatial design and local craftsmanship.
The core concept is built around a “sanctuary in the sky” approach, where spatial planning prioritizes orientation towards the expansive skyline, ensuring that every room connects visually and emotionally to the surroundings. An open-plan layout eliminates barriers between functions, allowing living, dining, and lounge spaces to flow seamlessly. Large windows, minimal partitions, and the use of voids create a light-filled, airy environment, while layered textures and pockets of greenery blur the line between indoor comfort and the vastness outside. The concept merges tranquility, functionality, and visual connectivity in a way that feels both grounded and elevated.
The Design Celebrates Fluidity With Open Floor Plan House | The Casa Studio
As you step into this home, you’re greeted by an arresting foyer that sets the tone for the entire residence. A sculptural wall art installation, featuring layered floral motifs in a textured ivory palette, adds depth and dimension, creating a powerful visual impact. The composition is perfectly framed by warm wood paneling and complemented by a sleek, handcrafted wooden console that balances functionality with style. The marble flooring and minimal ceiling lights ensure that all attention is drawn to the artisanal details, making this entryway not just a passage, but a statement of timeless elegance and refined design sensibility.
This thoughtfully designed hallway is more than just a passage; it’s a visual experience that balances form and function. Clad in soft neutral tones, the corridor is enhanced with fluted panelling along the lower walls. Further, adorned with curated family portraits and artistic frames that bring a personal narrative to the space.
The seamless marble flooring with inlay detailing gently guides the eye, leading to a striking end vignette featuring a sleek black stone bench resting on a spherical wooden base, and further opening into a sophisticated console setup framed in rich burl wood and gold metallic arches. The play of symmetry, material contrast, and mood lighting transforms this transitional space into a moment of pause and elegance within the home.
In the living area, the carefully curated furniture ensemble embodies understated luxury, its subtle tones shifting the focus to the vista of the balcony beyond. On the opposite end, a sleek onyx tabletop rests atop two ribbed wooden pedestals, creating a striking dining table. An accent chandelier anchors the space, its drape-like geometry providing a sense of artistic release.
A rich granite countertop and backsplash punctuate the kitchen’s stark white modular system in the backdrop. The island counter bridges the dining and kitchen areas, featuring a sliding mechanism that extends to create a more casual, intimate breakfast setting.
Anchored in elegance and functionality, this dining area is a harmonious blend of modern craftsmanship and subtle artistic expression.
A striking onyx dining table with fluted wooden legs anchors the space, while ergonomically sculpted wooden chairs surround it, offering both comfort and style.
The backdrop features a serene fluted panel with brass circular accents, echoing artisanal sensibility and tactile detail.
A concealed storage unit and warm wood-finished shutter balance the layout, while the fluid, sculptural light fixture above adds a sense of movement and airiness.
Natural light floods the room through full-length glass doors, making it an inviting spot for intimate gatherings and everyday family.
The master bedroom is an ecosystem in itself, with assorted spaces that invite you to lounge, curl up with a book, or simply relax.
The swing placed right next to a wall-to-wall window is a subtle nod to morning coffee rituals. It is a place for quiet reflection against the backdrop of the city view.
Taking centre stage, even in its muted ecru tones, however, is the accent wall behind the headboard. A large sandstone panel engraved in delicate organic patterns.
It immediately commands attention, adding depth and a natural flow to the room, with sunlight accentuating its intricate texture. Adjoining the bedroom is the bath area.
This delightful kids’ bedroom is a celebration of whimsy and warmth, where design meets imagination. A soft blush and coral palette flow seamlessly through the space. From the arch-topped open shelving unit to the padded headboard and accent wall, the space evokes a sense of joy and comfort.
The carefully curated furniture pieces and custom joinery reflect a gentle, arched geometry that’s both soothing and playful.
Patterned curtains, pastel-tiled flooring, and light-filtering sheers complete the dreamy look. Hence, allowing natural light to flood the room while maintaining a cozy, cocoon-like feel.
Designed with both aesthetics and function in mind, this room captures the innocence of childhood while offering an environment that can grow gracefully with time.
