Our client is a pro golfer who spends most of his days traveling the world representing India. It was really important to create a space that felt like ‘home’- a space that has its own charm & comfort, a personal sanctuary. The project is aptly named ‘Casa Vistosa’ which means attractive/ colourful. An overall eclectic style creates a warm, inviting atmosphere with its colourful interior design.
With his unique lifestyle, Rashid Khan wanted a space that would be a welcoming, lively oasis, unlike the cookie-cutter hotel rooms that he spends time at during his travels. He wanted a space where he could kick back and relax in solitude & also host gatherings.
Editor’s Note: “Casa Vistosa is a blend of charm and comfort dipped with colorful spots, which ripples throughout the interior spaces. Handpicked art pieces, curated furnishings, refreshing palettes, and patterned floors echo the design language and character. Each space reflects the client’s personality and masters with customized designs and artisan touches.” ~ Anusha Sridhar
The Colourful Interior Design Of This Abode Has Its Own Charm And Comfort | Aditi Lawate Design
The entrance foyer features a wall dedicated to showcasing the ace golfer’s achievements. A golden oak veneer clad wall with sleek matte black floating shelves houses a huge collection of trophies & awards; a true homage to his achievements.
A curated blend of ethnic and contemporary pieces makes the living and dining space inviting and cosy. Patterned floor tiles flow through the communal spaces, binding them together while still having an exciting character.
A stylish mix of rattan and matte black with pops of the colour blue and matte gold accents create an eclectic setting. The handpicked distressed antique decor pieces, sprinkles of lush greens add the necessary details to elevate the look.
A refreshing blue sectional sofa with a bone inlay centre table contrasts the black solid wooden dining table and black rattan-back dining chairs. The rattan lamps above the dining table set the mood for evenings of conversation and food as guests gather around the table for a hearty meal.
The space adjacent to the living area, originally a bedroom, has been reimagined as a TV den that can transform into a cosy bedroom.
A top-mounted sliding folding door designed with an arch pattern separates the two spaces while maintaining a seamless flow of the patterned flooring.
The sofa-bed is custom-designed for the space. A live edge wood & resin top coffee table and an egg-white boucle armchair complement the sofa bed.
The design team enclosed the previously open-layout kitchen with a sliding door, matching the style of the TV den door to better suit the client’s lifestyle. It is a functionality-focused space, with a continuation of the refreshing blue colour of the living room sofa, combined with a light wooden laminate.
The design language of the communal spaces flows seamlessly into the master bedroom. A custom-designed poster bed in a matte black finish takes centre stage in this room with a golden oak panelling behind it to add layers.
A hand-picked antique wooden decor piece has been refurbished to adorn the wall above the bed. The wardrobe is simple, with rattan and white shutters, blending into the space.
The curtains have been customized by the conscious artisanal brand, Rihaa, with a palm leaf pattern. The bedding from Seerat Living has hand block printed patterns that add a nostalgic charm.
The Guest Bedroom, with its refreshing palette of ink blue, rattan, and white with sprinkles of greenery, is a vibrant and comforting space.
The mix of various textures, patterns and a dash of bold blue bring this room together.
