  • The Client’s Brief For This Co-Working Interior Design Was in Three Parts | Designworkz

    [Sassy_Social_Share]

The client’s brief for this co-working interior design was in three parts one being the technical requirement which is how the space has to be designed, what the functionality that it serves and what is the ratio of the offices versus the breakout areas and the free time spaces provided.

Two being how we create a space that is sophisticated, modern, functional, and at the same time not completely casual, filled with heavy prints or neon that typically all co-working spaces are seen across the country.

    Right Balance of Aesthetics

The right balance of aesthetics was needed that would be timeless, functional, easy to sustain hundreds of people using the space at the same time, and also create sentiment that is vibrant and calming at the same time, which would motivate the end user to be excited to be connected and inspire them to come daily where they could share ideas and grow!

Third thing was sustainability not just in aesthetic but also in operations. We were requested to adhered to provide products for green building standards.

    Concept Note

Our co-working space aims to create a harmonious and productive environment where professionals from diverse filed can collaborate, innovate and thrive.

    coworking space interior design

The core concept revolves around the use if the neutral tones with lot of textures, which fosters serene and balance ambience, promoting focus and creativity.

    coworking space interior design

The entire space is adorned with soft, earthy tones such as beige, light grey, and muted blues. Additionally, the rust echoes the view from the outside.

These colours are to evoke a sense of calmness, balance and sophistication. We have also added wooden tones to add warmth and some sense of a grounded feel to the volume.

    Minimalist and Clutter Free

We have also added potted plants that as well connect members with nature, promoting a healthier work environment. The design follows a minimalist style, ensuring clutter-free surfaces and emphasising its beauty and simplicity.

The concept outlines the key elements and features that will define our co-working haven. Our design for the co-working space features neutral tones to create a serene, collaborative, and inspiring atmosphere. We add warmth with brown accents and thoughtfully placed potted plants and indoor greenery throughout the space.

Moreover, we have also implemented eco-friendly initiatives, such as energy-efficient lighting and careful selection of CP and sanitary products that reduce water wastage. We used the rugs as artwork that doubles up as acoustic panels on the wall absorbing the sound during the peak/ event hours.

    Design Process

The plan reveals a linear rectangular space, with the shorter north wall on the left side of the building, allowing ample sunlight to flood the area through the glazing and windows.

The design positions the workstations so that employees face away from the north-facing wall, reducing glare on their screens. This arrangement allows them to work comfortably without excessive light hitting their monitors.

Also the location as per the site condition we had sunk only in the top right corner that played important role in zoning of the spaces. After locking core areas we focused on the central area which is the collaborative space.

    Planning

Tucked reception: placing the reception in the corner allows for an unobstructed an visually open space form entry to glazing area. This gives visitors  an clear view and a sense of openness upon entering the space.

Columns as design elements: the presence of the columns on-site provided and opportunity for creative space division. We have cleverly used them to carve out an island seating by using the meeting room walls that offers a unique and comfortable space for clients. The viewing gallery aspect adds interest and allows people in the waiting area to observe art while waiting or collaborating.

The central plumbing shaft serves as an attractive backdrop for the bar area. This not only hides the plumbing infrastructure but also creates a focal point in the space. The shaft also acts as a barricade, separating BOH mess that includes pot wash and bulk storage for supplies. This keeps the functional area discreetly hidden from public view.
