Tucked away in the bustling neighbourhood of Powai, Mumbai, The Little Wild is a 1115 sqft. apartment that reimagines urban living through the lens of nature. Designed for a young couple and their toddler, the 2.5-bedroom home draws inspiration from the serenity of the outdoors, blending modern minimalism and soft tones with organic warmth.
At its core, the home embodies a quiet sophistication — an unhurried, grounded refuge from city life. An earthy palette of greens, browns, and soft neutrals flows seamlessly from room to room, creating a cohesive rhythm that mirrors the calm of nature. Thoughtful spatial planning ensures a clutter-free layout, while gentle curves and fluid forms soften the geometry of urban living.
Soft Tones And Modern Minimalism Blend In This 2.5BHK Mumbai Home | ASDA Architects
The open-plan living and dining area sets the tone for the rest of the home — serene, balanced, and inviting. Soft tones envelop the space, while clever built-in storage maintains a sense of visual lightness. The TV unit, crafted from cane and wood and accented with a live-edge shelf, lends artisanal warmth. Large floral sheers filter natural light, blurring the line between indoors and outdoors.
In lieu of a traditional coffee table, a sleek ledge behind the sofa enhances flow and spaciousness — a deliberate nod to minimalist living. The adjoining balcony doubles as a casual bar, complete with glass shelving and high chairs, encouraging moments of quiet leisure.
The six-seater dining table, made of reclaimed BTC wood, is paired with blush-toned chairs and a matching bench, adding a touch of elegance. A crockery-cum-coffee unit, backed by a mural of lush foliage, becomes both focal point and conversation starter.
Echoing the tones of the living space, the kitchen features shades of sage green and brown, anchored by a black granite countertop provided by the builder. Mosaic tiles animate the backsplash, lending color and vibrancy to the otherwise tranquil scheme. Parallel counters lead naturally to a compact utility balcony, reinforcing the home’s sense of practical flow.
The master suite is envisioned as a personal sanctuary — a space where function meets intimacy. Cloaked in sage green and warmed by wooden flooring, it exudes understated luxury. The custom-made bed and cane-accented headboard set a tactile, organic tone, while the flamingo print fabric adds a subtle element of drama.
A bespoke open-weave cane wardrobe seamlessly integrates into the bedroom extension, offering both character and function. The interplay of natural textures and finishes evokes a sense of calm refinement.
Compact yet composed, the guest bedroom maximizes efficiency without compromising comfort. The furniture is conceived as a single, continuous unit — bed, wardrobe, and side tables flowing together in a seamless design and soft tones.
Rounded wardrobe edges lend softness, while cane and laminate finishes maintain visual warmth. A foldable study table enhances versatility, and the window beside the bed floods the space with light, emphasizing the apartment’s central design philosophy: subtle, serene, and effortlessly livable.
Designed with playfulness and practicality in mind, the toddler’s bedroom carries the home’s earthy palette, punctuated with lively pops of indigo blue.
Custom animal-shaped handles add whimsy, while the panda-themed wallpaper behind the bed brings a joyful energy to the space. An extended balcony area invites light and imagination — a place for daydreaming, play, and quiet exploration.
