Pravah, meaning flow, is a 1,498 sq. ft. residence at Park Royale Society, Rahatani. The Inches Interior Design completed the home within a focused four-month timeline. The name captures the intent behind the home: a calm, uninterrupted movement of space, light and family life. Every room is planned entirely around Indian Vastu principles, yet the language remains thoroughly modern and contemporary. Warm wood veneer runs throughout the home as the primary material, balanced by neutral tones, marble and soft curves. Layered ceilings bring tradition and modernity together as one continuous design language.
Pravah Brings Vastu and Modern Living Together in Pune | The Inches Interior Design
The journey begins at the foyer, where rich wooden panelling and a coffered ceiling set an assured tone. A curved edge wooden shoe cabinet, styled with a pair of crown bear artefacts, greets you at the entrance, while an arched safety door with a wooden bead screen offers an elegant and traditional welcome.
At the heart of the home, the living room is wrapped in warm veneer beneath a sculpted curved false ceiling that softens the whole volume. A fluted dark wood slat panel meets a beige feature wall carrying a subtle cream wave inlay in CNC routed HDHMR finished with Deco paint, framing the wall mounted television.
Rounded grey tub chairs and sofas gather around a solid wood coffee table over large format marble flooring, all lit by a crystal chandelier. A wooden pooja mandir with a carved white arch keeps the family’s traditions gracefully in view.
Flowing on from here, the dining area shares the same material warmth. A marble top table pairs with cream upholstered chairs on exposed wooden frames, set against a book matched marble backsplash, while slim black framed glass display units hold curated objects and a crystal drum chandelier anchors the layered tray ceiling above.
The kitchen is where the Vastu brief becomes a design strength. The client wanted a green platform as per Vastu, so a deep forest green full body tile was chosen for the countertop and backsplash and the entire palette was built around it.
White glossy base units keep the space bright, overhead storage combines wood finish shutters with fluted glass fronts and warm under cabinet lighting, and a Faber chimney with a well lit utility balcony completes the working zone.
The private spaces are equally considered. The master bedroom is a warm, layered retreat, its headboard wall shaped by a geometric fretwork panel in deep brown that reads almost like abstract branches, softened by a fluted section alongside and a cushioned window seat in the corner.
The kid’s bedroom stays playful yet refined, with a fluted headboard, cream and glossy black wardrobes, soft blush textures and cheerful bunny lamps.
The study doubles as a guest room, combining a floating wooden desk and under lit shelving with a sofa cum bed and a bold horse painting for character.
Quiet luxury runs through the two remaining spaces. The pooja room centres on a marble backdrop with a carved arch, backlit niches and a delicate floral chandelier. The washroom pairs shimmering brass-toned tiles with calm white large-format tiles. Backlit niches and a floating vanity complete the clean, layered look.
The real test of Pravah was honouring fixed Vastu placement across every zone while still delivering clean, contemporary detailing within a compact footprint and a tight schedule. The calm, connected flow of the finished home is the answer, and the reason it carries its name so well.
