One8 Commune Noida by Saaz Designs Studio embodies a contemporary bohemian cafe aesthetic with a strong urban sensibility. Rooted in the brand’s cosmopolitan spirit, the design creates a laid-back yet refined hospitality experience that is both globally resonant and locally grounded. The concept draws from a free-spirited, boho charm—expressed through natural materials like wicker, bamboo, and repurposed cotton—balanced with clean, modern forms and vibrant, earthy tones. A key challenge of the site—a central column—was transformed into a design highlight, setting the tone for the project’s ethos of turning constraints into character.
Editor’s Note: “Rooted in the earthy poetry of Bohemia, One8 Commune is a spatial expression of ease, elegance, and exploration. Redefining contemporary hospitality through layers of warmth and whimsy, the cafe embraces chaos with calm. Moreover, every detail is crafted with intention, which feels personal as well as communal.” ~ Anusha Sridhar
One8 Commune Noida is A Bohemian Cafe with A Refined Urban Soul | Saaz Design Studio
Each zone within the space is thoughtfully connected, offering a variety of experiences while maintaining a cohesive atmosphere. Elements like macrame lighting, rope ceiling details, and open, flexible layouts promote interaction and comfort, blending the familiarity of a home with the energy of a social hub. The result is a warm, layered environment that reflects One8’s signature flair—elegant, energetic, and undeniably rooted in a sense of place.
The entrance to One8 Commune sets the tone for the entire experience — bold, inviting, and unmistakably bohemian. Bright signage and vivid visuals immediately draw attention, creating a strong identity for the space.
A coconut tree and textured wall elements, adorned with wicker decor, introduce the rustic, grounded aesthetic right from the start. The entrance also features Virat Kohli’s signature, subtly elevating the space and demarcating it from the rest of the interior zones, establishing a sense of exclusivity and brand personality.
Rather than a conventional reception area, the space opens up into a fluid, living-room-inspired layout. Floor lamps, potted plants, and console tables contribute to a homely, welcoming atmosphere. The design avoids the stiffness of commercial hospitality, instead offering a relaxed, social vibe that encourages guests to settle in and explore. Each element contributes to a seamless transition from the outside world into the vibrant heart of the Commune.
The central dining space follows an open-plan layout with interconnected zones that cater to varied dining experiences—from casual lounging and drinks at the bar to intimate dinners and open-air gatherings. Vibrant-hued sofa chairs and sleek, minimal furniture pieces add a contemporary flair while complementing the earthy palette.
Rope lighting above the dining area enhances the bohemian warmth. The kitchen is thoughtfully tucked away to maintain the space’s visual fluidity, ensuring uninterrupted service while preserving the aesthetic. Though not a workspace or conference room in the traditional sense, the layout encourages social interaction and informal networking, much like a creative commune.
While the project doesn’t include private bedrooms or cabins, the commercial kitchen is an integral part of the seamless hospitality experience. Hidden from immediate view, it allows the open layout to retain its airy, engaging atmosphere without compromising functionality. Its strategic placement supports smooth service and contributes to the uninterrupted guest experience.
The elevated bar and DJ area act as the social and spatial high point of the Commune. Tucked into a ceiling niche with macramé statement lights, this zone is designed for energy and connection. Every seat is strategically positioned to offer a clear view of the performance stage, merging dining with entertainment.
This integration of spatial planning with atmosphere makes it one of the most dynamic and memorable zones in the project. Outdoor seating extends the experience into the open air, further enhancing the sense of freedom and layered spatial engagement.
The restaurant design draws inspiration from a unique blend of urban sophistication and bohemian spirit, crafting a dining experience that feels both elevated and soulful. Industrial elements like exposed concrete, steel frames, and structured lines form the architectural base. Meanwhile, layers of handcrafted décor—textiles, ceramics, and modern pieces—bring warmth and personality.
The space is softened with lush greenery, ambient lighting, and organic textures. As a result, it creates a harmonious balance between the city edge and artistic comfort. Intimate nooks, open lounges, and glass partitions offer varied seating experiences, reflecting a curated yet free-spirited atmosphere. This design celebrates the modern nomad—someone who thrives on the rhythm of the city. At the same time, they seek depth, culture, and creativity in every corner.
