MAC Blinds Experience Centre Reimagines Renovation Interior Design with Warmth | Arth Design

The Experience Centre for MAC Blinds is designed to celebrate their finesse and diverse range of window covering solutions. The client’s brief called for a modern, minimalistic space with a touch of warmth. A layered renovation interior design approach, marked by a fine play of textures and sculptured decor, creates an inviting and elegant ambience. Our objective was to reformulate blinds and window coverings, presenting them not merely as functional essentials, but as artistic expressions, which enrich any given space.

The stylised environment, showcasing blinds, reflects an effort to integrate blinds as artistic elements. The plan views the walls as curated canvases which present blinds in a palette of colours, patterns, and mechanisms. The strategic placement of vertical panels and suspended elements make the space interactive and visually engaging. The minimalist use of furniture creates an inviting ambience and allows the visitors’ attention to be centered on the products. The layout divides the space into three distinct zones, namely Excite, Engage and Select.

Excite and Engage Zone

The Excite Zone creates a visually engaging experience for the visitors. This zone incorporates strong focal points which draw the users’ interest and curiosity, encouraging them to explore further. This is accomplished through a suspended display of fabric samples near the entry, which transforms the material library into an installation.

The Engage Zone is strategically designed to create an interactive space that not only showcases products for hands-on exploration but also provides information through framed information boards. The product displays present the entire range of available blinds, allowing customers to browse and compare options. The Select Zone includes seating and consultation areas to foster discussions between the customers and the sales consultants about material and design choices. This kind of setting enables informed decision-making, combining functional display with a structured shopping experience.

Entrance

Stepping into the MAC Blinds showroom, you’re immediately struck by its quiet elegance: walls rendered in a warm lime texture form a soft, tactile backdrop for the brand’s sculptural logo. A slender charcoal grey console table anchors the entry with its fluted facia and slender legs complementing the clean geometry of the ceiling-hung light fixtures above. Flanking the entrance are two freestanding display panels suspended from a minimal white metal structure. One side showcases a spectrum of roller-blind casings and bottom rails in various finishes while the reverse presents a curated library of wood-veneer slats and more. The panels pale plaster surfaces and neat grid of samples feel less like a sales tool and more like a contemporary art installation. Beyond the display, a glimpse of secondary lounge space and its warm timber offer a preview of the showroom’s broader

Passage

The overall passage is broadly divided into 3 parts, a discussion zone, a mock-up zone and a larger-than-life installation. In the first hushed nook off the main gallery, MAC Blinds invites a moment of pause: a small round discussion table, its muted charcoal grey surface with the console behind together hosts a carefully curated vignette. Overhead, a disc-shaped pendant hovers like a halo, giving the space a contemplative calmness. Continuing down the corridor, the passage transforms into a bespoke demonstration area which offers a glimpse of finished installations.

A honeycomb blind in sky-blue fabric tucks neatly into a dark timber frame. Adjacent to it are placed a couple of white-matted photographs each a window into past MAC projects hangs in precise alignment, reinforcing the brand’s attention to detail. Below, the fluted console table returns, now supporting a second open volume, reminding clients that every material choice tells a story of quiet luxury of thoughtfully engineered shading. At the terminus of the passage sits a larger-than-life artful installation. Panels of patterned textile hang at staggered heights in a vertical collage. Track-mounted spotlights suspended from the ceiling above, highlight the fine weave of each fabric.

Cabin

Framed by rich ebony-toned windows sits a private consultation cabin tucked just off the showroom’s main axis. To the left, rich ebony-toned cantilevered shelf bearing a neat row of reference books, and below it an expansive desk whose warm veneer offsets the cool-coloured walls. A high-backed swivel chair and a secondary guest seat invite clients into an intimate conversation about their project’s bespoke blind solutions.

The contrast between the cabin’s deeper tones and the showroom’s neutral palette underscores MAC’s dual commitment to material warmth and minimalist precision. The windows of this cabin also double up as a display of their integrated blinds range. At the same time, they maintain privacy for the space. Together, the two spaces speak to a holistic brand experience. The open gallery of samples encourages discovery, while the adjacent cabin promises focused, one-on-one collaboration.

Display

An artistically curated window-treatment display that feels more like a contemporary art gallery than a typical retail space. A long, white lacquered display counter anchors the room, its clean lines reflecting soft overhead lighting.

Behind it, a series of crisp white niches frame each shelf neatly. They showcase an array of blind and shade options in wood tones, muted pastels, stone-like textures, and woven natural fibers. The warm oak plank flooring ties the palette together, contrasting gently with the cool grays and blues of some of the fabrics. At the same time, it allows the richer ambers and burgundies to pop.

The ceiling’s stepped recesses house adjustable spotlights. These lights wash each sample in uniform illumination, making it easy to compare textures and transparencies side by side.

Subtle architectural details like the shadow gaps around each niche and the seamless integration of storage beneath the counter, keep the focus firmly on the blinds themselves, inviting visitors to touch, test and imagine them in their own interiors.
