This 2,400 sq. ft. apartment is home to a family of four, each with their own distinct personality. The design intent was clear from the outset: to create a space that felt open and airy, bathed in natural light, and minimal without ever losing its warmth. The interiors are shaped by a thoughtful balance of clean lines, layered textures, and curated details that make the home feel inviting yet sophisticated.
Layered Textures And Curated Details Are Balanced To Make This Home Feel Inviting | Matrix Design Works
A sense of rhythm defines the spatial journey. The entrance door, crafted in a striking rectilinear pattern, opens into a foyer that sets the tone for the home. A long passage—its ceiling lined with timber slats, its walls adorned with delicate mouldings and artworks—guides the eye towards an expansive open living, dining, and kitchen area.
Subtle and serene, the living room is anchored by all-white wall panelling and mouldings that create a clean backdrop. Layered textures through pops of pink and warm tones emerge through the furniture, upholstered by Maspar Hospitality, while the floral rug from Easy Rugs becomes a statement piece underfoot.
Wall lights and a sculptural chandelier bring in layers of soft illumination, making the space equally suited to intimate family evenings or lively gatherings.
Branching off from the living space, the dining area is defined by a six-seater table in stone with leather-veneered chairs.
Ample sunlight pours in, and with the open kitchen just ahead—complete with a breakfast counter—the layered textures of the design encourage conversations to flow seamlessly between the hosts and their guests. By forgoing unnecessary walls, the space remains drenched in daylight and feels connected, calm, and convivial.
In the master suite, asymmetrical wall paneling in leatherette alternates with mirrored bands, flowing seamlessly into the bed’s headboard.
The play of reflection and texture adds depth, while the TV unit—detailed with a stone-finish laminate—introduces a subtle touch of drama. Functional storage is integrated with ease, ensuring the room remains as practical as it is luxurious.
The grandparents’ bedroom departs slightly from the contemporary language of the rest of the home to embrace a more rooted aesthetic. A wall panel featuring four elegant arches frames a delicate chinoiserie wallpaper by Life n Colors.
The floral patterns nod to Indian design sensibilities, infusing the room with a sense of nostalgia and belonging.
The daughter’s room exudes freshness in shades of white. A fluid, curvilinear wall panel arcs gently from the bed to the dressing unit, creating a sculptural effect that frames the room. Sleek yet modern, the space includes a generously sized study desk, striking the perfect balance between youthful charm and functionality.
This bedroom is a true showstopper. Conceptualized as a moonscape, the space uses textured Rock PU panelling as its dramatic focal point.
Shades of grey dominate, lending a minimal and soothing palette while keeping the overall ambience clean and futuristic.
