Your home is clean and tidy, except for your teens’ room? Why is it so hard to make them clean their own rooms and keep them that way? Do you feel like you are talking to a brick wall? You need to insist on these:
Аccording to our trusted source: www.fastendoftenancycleaning.co.uk/ you need to give your teens some good reasons to keep their bedroom clean and tidy. Some reasons may include:
How to Get Them Started
Put a big box or container in the middle of their room and pull everything out from underneath the bed. Bring the vacuum cleaner and cleaning supplies to their room and let the hints talk. Or, just clarify what you want them to do. They need to understand how important it is to have a clean and tidy room.
Set a Day
Telling your kid that they have to clean their bedroom 15 minutes before they go out with friends, is not going to lead to something good. Try to set a day and time in advance because they will a lot more likely to take some action such as wiping down surfaces, sorting clean clothes and folding them, making the bed. Let them put some music on while they clean because music is a true mood booster.
Give Them Some Control
It is their room, but it is still your home. Let them know what exactly you want them to clean, but let them be the one who controls all other facets. This will give your teen responsibility for their room.
Respect Their Privacy
Everybody deserves some privacy. However, threatening to come into your teens’ bedroom while they are away may give them a kick in the pants that they should do the cleaning themselves.
Lead by Example
You cannot expect your teens to take cleaning their bedrooms very seriously if the rest of the rooms are a mess. Kids imitate their parents which is why they are more responsive to what parents do than what they say.
