This home translates via a Neoclassical Style and is a melting pot of details, personalities, and technological advancements in one space. It follows the visual language of simplicity, comfort, and peace through the entire space and completes with stonework and an interesting interplay of light and shadows, and a contemporary interior adorned with vintage furniture, especially in most of the common areas of the house.
Home Translates Via A Neoclassical Style And Is A Melting Pot Of Details | AKG Design Studio
Located in the courtyard of the house, the exquisite Shiv temple is made entirely of black stone. Thoughtfully designed with details like niches carved into the dead wall to breathe life into it alongside the pathway to the temple.
The choice of white flowers as an offering to Lord Shankar, and the placement of bamboo shoots on the other side of the pathway. All add to the meditative vibe of the lawn and garden.
To design a home for a well-traveled family that, while being luxurious, retains a sense of being grounded and humble.
This translated into a visual language of minimalism via the choice of colour, linear forms, and other customizations through the space.
As global citizens that laid a heavy emphasis on handcrafted work, there were several choices. It includes the design of the meditative temple outdoors, the use of personalized linen and curtains, original pieces of artwork, and choice of a luxurious.
However, natural material palette along with neoclassical style have been influenced by their exposure and taste.
Along with these, all the paintings in the home are original works of art that have also been the driving forces in design, particularly with reference to lighting, selection of complementing artifacts, and the layout of the space. For instance, a vibrant painting in the living room is one of the first things to greet you upon entering the home.
This, along with the choice of infusing the best home automation tech stack, creates the perfect blend of classic and contemporary.
Every piece of furniture has been customized, sampled, and created on site.
On the inside, Italian marble is a constant through the entire home. Different types of slabs, book matched on the walls, floors, in the washrooms, common areas, and bedrooms, all follow the cohesive colour palette of grey and white.
Several walls like the one in the living room were large, dead walls. We’ve transformed them into subtly emphasized elements of the space by adding interesting details like lighting, small niches, and minimal treatment.
In addition, planters, the dark walnut wood finish veneers, and smaller elements add to the warmth of ‘home’ while still retaining the essence of luxury.
