This contemporary office space envisioned and designed by ADD Lab is a 600 sq ft. workplace located in the bustling city of Navi Mumbai amidst an industrial estate. This office is a perfect example of eloquence and charm! With the shift in the paradigm during the pandemic, the client brief was to re-create the simple pleasures of working from his own living room. The idea was to mimic elements and materiality traditionally used in residential interior spaces and translate it into a warm and cosy office cabin.

The floor was spatially segregated into three zone- the Work Lounge, the Formal Study, the Homework. Each zone was designed according to the usage pattern of the client during different hours. A ritualistic movement of the client was studied and observed, the formal study for staff meetings and presentations in the morning, visitor meetings in the lounge during the afternoon and eventual wrapping up at the library in the evenings.
The lounge area also served as a space for lunch as well as entertaining notable clients over a glass of whiskey. The furniture was designed according to the comfort needs and nature of activity.
The idea was to make every corner of the office express a sense of vitality yet create a free-flowing space which can come together as a whole. To achieve this and give it an avant-garde timeless look, the combination of light wooden textures was taken into consideration.
The bleached herringbone pine wood flooring compliments the oak wood beautifully. The tan leather along with warm linen fabrics add the required pop of freshness and texture to the space. Moreover, the wainscoting runs throughout the room and visually blinds individual functions.
The dark grey was combined with the creamy white walls in the main cabin which exudes opulence and elegance. A dusty olive green was used in the staff area to boost creativity and calmness.
