Architects Explore Bespoke Luxury In This Penthouse Interior Design | Logic Design + Build
Aanandam’s design philosophy prioritises functionality and honest material expression to achieve basic yet raw grace. Light-filled spaces, classic sustainable charm, and invite comfort create a serene haven amidst the urban hustle. Bold, lush, and lit, the penthouse interior combines Modernist elements with organic warmth through a character-led design philosophy. It brings in nature into every space to infuse calm.
The project demonstrates how design transforms a space’s narrative, perception, and emotional quality through integrated materials, technology, and finish. Custom furniture, glow, and artisanal pieces create a personal, emotionally powerful home that honors its residents.
The living area, bathed in natural light, forms the heart of the residence, fostering an atmosphere that is both -welcoming and emotionally uplifting. At its centre lies an invigorating double-height garden and stone feature wall, evoking a play of life and light.
The triple-glazed laminated glass envelope with a full skylight creates a dynamic interplay of light and shadows. It enhances mental well-being, provides acoustic insulation, reduces artificial lighting needs, and lowers indoor heat gain efficiently.
Born from meticulous sampling and experimentation, the project transforms the penthouse from a conventional five-bedroom layout into three expansive master ensuites with spacious washrooms and an additional guest room. This ambitious overhaul optimizes spatial efficiency within the constraints of an existing structure, featuring reconfigured staircases, extended upper floors, and a skylight over the veranda to bring the outdoors inside.
The richness and warmth of raw materials such as seamless concrete, maple wood, exposed brickwork, and lime plaster are juxtaposed against the elegant opulence of honed and polished marble, glass, and brass accents. Natural light – the quintessential design element plays a pivotal role. It acts as a major emotive material allowing character-defining materials and details to become its subjects as it spreads through the home.
The use of exposed concrete on the walls and in the flooring, lime plaster finished in wax, and metal lends an enduring and robust straightforwardness to the residence. Sustainable organic elements like wood and natural stone also contribute to the home’s longevity. There is great attention to detail in every element and furniture piece, providing users with rich and wholesome experiences.
Bold, clean lines and geometric forms in architectural elements and custom furniture create a grounded feel, with solid, weighty pieces made from wood, metal, and stone providing a robust presence. Frameless pivot doors, iconic Olivari door handles, tactile stone detailing and contemporary stitching details contribute to a seamless living experience.
The fully automated residence offers complete control over lighting, switches, and HVAC systems, allowing residents to program their environment for optimal comfort. Custom lighting design ensures the perfect ambiance, as it is devoid of overpowering fixtures and provides complete control over lumens for desired ambiance and eye comfort. The majority of furniture and planters are exclusively designed and crafted in-house for this residence, while the rugs are custom-designed and tailored to each space. Dedicated breathing spaces for natural plants further enhance the home’s organic feel.
Aanandam is more than a residence; it is a liberating urban retreat. Each space is meticulously crafted to celebrate the occupants’ personality, elevate daily experiences, and significantly improve quality of life. A reverence for the environment and a commitment to functional urban comfort culminate in expressive, quiet luxury.
