A Familial Vadodara Residence Soaked In A Rich Material Palette | Design Studio Associates

A Familial Vadodara Residence Soaked In A Rich Material Palette | Design Studio Associates

Bestowed with warmth at its core, this home was envisioned to be one that felt like an oasis for the home dwellers, an abode synonymous with rejuvenation. The design narrative navigated this need via a pragmatic confluence established amidst public & private zones of the home – all while creating an impeccable ambience. The materiality across the home is a concoction of walnut veneers, wallpapers, Italian stone, brass accents, glass, leather & fabrics ranging of various textures and hues.

Visit: Design Studio Associates

At the ground-level, one enters via a roofed porch area that opens into a foyer section. The arrival porch boasts of wooden materiality in the form of slatted ceiling paneling, veneer-covered walls, an artisanal main door & metal craftsmanship seen as 3D wall murals. This zone is a glimpse at the overall home’s tonality that’s carried through in a ubiquitous manner.

The formal living room is the personification of opulence like no other. This elegantly designed space is ideal to entertain in with its ample footprint & open layout. The wooden-backed fluted stone paneling with inlay work is the pièce de résistance in the room & forms the ideal backdrop. The capacious chesterfield tan leather sofas form an intimate spread for the guests. Bespoke elements like the oversized lamps, grand chandeliers & custom traditional framed art give the space a sense of grandeur.

The family lounge has seamless views of the dining & open kitchen and forms the nucleus of public activity. Graced with the presence of two velvet teal sofas & large glazed windows in the backdrop, this area anchors the common zones of the floor & acts as a buffer between various functions. The adjacent dining nook is all things suave & stated. Equipped with an 8-seater rectangular dining table & high-back caramel upholstered chairs, the dining space exudes timelessness. Additions like the custom wood console, geometric array of rhombus mirrors & a crystal pendant allow the space to be minimalistic yet edgy.

An open-plan commodious kitchen is visually a melody amidst deep charcoal grey, walnut brown & white veined marble. The practicable L-configuration kitchen amplifies the storage & usability factor dominantly. A central island counter packs in additional storage & also doubles up as a dining surface for the family. This kitchen has access to a walk-in pantry & also shares a connection with the expansive outdoor kitchen space that can service outdoor congregations with ease.

An ensuite parent’s bedroom on the ground-floor is designed with a vintage-modern DNA, has an attached sit-out area attached to the main garden. The grey-beige grid headboard, patterned mirror panels & buttoned leather panels emanate a sense of panache. The chesterfield bed-end seat & custom gold and black console add a touch of plushness too.

On the first-floor level, the private bedroom suites & intimate entertaining spaces come together cohesively. The lounge space is the ideal nook to convene in with views of the double-height stairwell. Wooden finishes & a deep scarlet form the visual symphony in this space & is crowned off with a monochrome monolithic bar island that’s perfect to entertain guests. This section is further connected to a semi-formal seating section that has regal maroon chesterfield sofas against the backdrop of large glazed floor to ceiling windows. An attached open terrace allows the hosts to take the celebrations outdoors that have manicured landscapes, deck space, a gazebo & rattan furniture to lounge in at dusk!

The master suite is a stated sanctuary for its end-users that has a neutral demeanour accentuated with pops of a blue hue. The segmented beige leather-wrapped headboard is framed within mirrored glass panels, giving it a sleek character. The azure blue colour makes its debut in the bed’s structure & homogeneously with the bench at the footboard. The room has been functionally bifurcated into the main resting space & the lounge area with a central wooden partition that houses a cozy seating setup on the other side with wing-back chairs. A room truly fit for clients who love to live maximally!

The secondary master bedroom bears a visual palette formed primarily of wooden goodness. The custom grid veneer headboard bears dainty metal inlay traditional motifs, making the vignette royal indeed when paired with the velvet panels! The ivory used along the bed’s edges & bench add a sense of minimalism to the composition. The central wooden partition also acts as the TV console & creates a snug lounging area on the other side.

Primary colours like red, blue & yellow paint a vibrant image in the child’s bedroom. A space that anchors the ability to evolve with the boy’s needs, this space truly accommodates each function fittingly. The neoteric grey upholstered bed pairs serendipitously with the bold blue, red & white chevron accent wall, lending the space a zing! A compact study nook & a graphic wardrobe shutter with sports imagery are key highlights.

The room although simple in its design approach, lets the child’s personality shine through. “The Shah Villa is an ingenious amalgamation of the needs of our clients, their identities & an intrinsic understanding of their lifestyle. We strived to create a home that was responsive yet versatile to grow with the young family even in the days to come. A rooted residence that unites with luxury with its every weave.”, concludes the Architect.
