Editor’s note : AR Praxis Architects has created this highly integrated interior design of the house cloud9, where the detailed soft curves and bright, popping colors are harmoniously merging with each other. The arches are one of the most exciting elements, offering a creative solution to divide the spaces. ~ Aditi Shah (editor)

One can see generous use of semi-glossy finishes, be it in wood, stone or tiles. Arches are a major element of the 3D forms. Whereas, diagonal line patterns come out into different spaces to create the 2D pattern language.

The shared spaces in the house were one of the most crucial to be designed. Being a compact space they needed to be inclusive at the same time allow for some privacy through the use of partition screens.

The screen is a porous partition designed to be as inconspicuous as possible, having a beautiful arch to pass through into the dining.

The backdrop of the dining is a Prussian blue wall – also with an arch to further proceed into the private spaces.

The white metal partition was provided to separate the living and dining spaces, as well as to cut through the bright blue wall at the back end of the dining space thereby not making it too jarring. This creates an interesting visual dialogue of the two spaces – a highlight of the whole house.

A blue and white striped false ceiling pattern connects the two walls of the living and dining, further connecting the two visually.

The kitchen too was designed to be of a semi-open nature with an interesting take on a service counter complete with ceiling suspended shelves. Use of pastel colours be it in the storages or the glass blue dado tiles – enlivens the family spaces in the house. A terrazzo finish dining table top made of premium quartz material adds the right amount of quirk to the space.

Each of the bedrooms represent the personalities of its user. The master bedroom being an all-white bedroom with pops of icy blue.

This makes the room feel visually larger and the use of cool colours reasserts the feeling of being up in the sky! Large sized faux marble tiles in beautiful satin finish make for a luxe bed back.

Any kind of plywood panelling was avoided on the TV wall as it was adjacent to the washroom. Offset style wainscoting in a light blue shade gives it the right scale.

The son’s bedroom presents a higher colour contrast and has an exposed brick wall painted in all white. One may call it a semi-finished industrial look with the exposed but painted brick wall and the metal book shelf above the study. A translucent sliding glass door connects the common washroom to this bedroom when needed.

The grandparent’s bedroom on the other hand, showcases a warmer material palette compared to the rest of the home. It features the use of wood veneer and traditional décor made of restored batik print blocks.

A dedicated file storage unit has been designed that can showcase a couple of pretty knick knacks as well.

The overall design language is modern with pops of colour splashed around to create an interesting
    visual dialogue within the home!
