Editor’s Note: When we think of cozy and charming living spaces, it’s difficult to imagine it without a jet of breezy light streaming in. Simplecede has interpreted that imagination in its natural sensibility. Mellow and radiant colors invite you in to take the space while maintaining contact with the outdoors. Outdoor seating areas are indeed delightful, imitating walking among clouds. ~ Nishal Sevak

Living & Dining
A Bold Foyer space swings open to reveal an expansive living, accompanied by captivating views of the garden area. The seamless layout gracefully divides the space into two complementary zones, offering both formal and casual seating options that beckon to unwind and socialise.
In the formal gathering area, a soft and muted beige tone envelopes the surroundings, beautifully complementing the greens outside. Contrasting the formality, the informal seating zone boasts an vibrant color palate that blushes beneath the double height ceiling.
The soaring double height wall stands sentinel, adorned with a tastefully muted Wallpaper and set of tear-drop pendant light , both adding a touch of elegance to the entire environment.
Indeed, this Living space serves not only as a delightful retreat in its own right but also as a tantalizing preview of the spaces that lie beyond, throughout the rest of the dwelling.
Kitchen/Dining/Utility
‘The kitchen, in its earlier layout, existed as a separate enclosed space, disconnected from the dining area and other communal spaces, while also suffering from a lack of natural light. To address these issues and create a more seamless integration with the open plan of the home, several changes were made. Firstly, the entry to the kitchen was widened, forging a better connection with the surrounding areas and allowing more light to filter in. Existing cabinetry was skillfully rearranged to facilitate this integration, and to add functionality, an island/breakfast counter was introduced. This addition not only provided extra storage but also served as a convenient spot for quick snacks and friendly chats.
The transformation of the kitchen into an open plan concept revealed an abrupt ledge separating it from the utility area, visibly looking odd from the living space. To enhance the flow of light and create a more cohesive design, the ledge was replaced with a porous partition. This clever addition not only brightened up the space but also featured a neat louvred shuttered broom-rack on the utility side.
To lend a distinctive character to the kitchen entryway and serve as a smooth transition between kitchen and dining, a veneer panelling was added around the entryway. Adjoining the space is the dining area with a specially customized crockery unit with glass shutters. Throughout this transformation process, we aimed to strike a perfect balance between preserving some of the original elements while infusing new touches. As a result, the kitchen now exudes a modern, sophisticated charm.
The Primary room and its bath effortlessly captures the essence of ‘Understated Elegance’. Our client’s foremost request was to have a generously spacious and luxurious bath, even if it meant slightly compromising the room size. With this vision in mind, a transformation was thought through enlarging the bath and integrating the wardrobes within it seamlessly.
The entire layout was boldly reimagined , resizing the bedroom by 20% to accommodate an expanded bath. Walls between the room and the bath were knocked down and replaced by frosted glass sliding doors to lighten up the spaces. Further, walk-in wardrobes were integrated within the bath to ensure a fusion of functionality and opulence. Pre-existing tucked-in bathtub was replaced with a free-standing tub and realigned to overlook the balcony. At the opposite end, a shower area with comfortable cemented seating was thoughtfully designed. The all-white color palette and that subtle mist in the air, evokes a heavenly “walk-in the clouds” ambiance.
The Primary room on the other side, a straightforward, minimal design approach was embraced, featuring a fully customized Californian-sized upholstered bed and headboard. To complement this centerpiece, a bed-end and armchairs were introduced,, while delicate curtains gracefully adorned the wooden ledges running at the lintel level, infusing the bedroom with a touch of softness and warmth. Room’s true true essence emanates from a striking large backlit round dresser.. This exquisite piece not only adds a touch of sophistication but also provides convenient storage for accessories, ensuring a clutter-free and refined environment.
Parent’s room was envisioned as a simple and cozy retreat with a solace of watching TV as and when desired. The bed with regular wooden headboard and accompanying side tables, thus was designed with utmost simplicity. This design aesthetic seamlessly transitioned into the TV Unit, characterised by its clean, unembellished lines that also serve as a study space. Tucked on the side of the room is a petite walk-in area accommodating a sleek sliding wardrobe on one end and an elegant vanity on the other, completing the room’s understated charm.
For the son’s bedroom, a dynamic and fluid theme was envisioned, perfectly suited for a young, playful, and joyful mind. Embracing the L shape of the room, we curated a design that fosters a sense of movement and flexibility, encouraging the little one’s active imagination.
A creatively designed wooden deck takes center stage, smoothly flowing along the wall with pockets of toy storages and seamlessly transforming into a dresser unit next to the wardrobe. This ingenious setup not only keeps the toys organized but also provides a playful zone where the child can spend time engrossed. The platform doubles as a cozy napping zone, allowing the child to rest after playtime or a delightful storytelling session. On one wall, has a straightforward Queen size bed with upholstered headboard with study table to the right. Coz, once in while, he does like to retire on the softness of the bed.
Home office
Nestled in a secluded corner on the second floor of the Villa, the space, once an enclosed laundrette with a small entry to the balcony, was together transformed into a serene Home Office,. The wall between the utility and balcony was broken and replaced with a sliding folding door made of wood and glass along the entire length. This addition not only brought an inviting connection with the outdoors but also flooded the space with natural light, fostering a sense of openness and harmony.
The flooring was replaced with an ikigai patterned tile, exuding a touch of elegance and Zen-like charm. Taking the user’s needs into consideration, a straightforward study unit with ample storage was designed. Within this space, the owner can work in solitude or conduct meetings with colleagues, enjoying the serene atmosphere while gazing upon the picturesque bamboo garden.
The carefully curated design seamlessly blends aesthetics with functionality, resulting in a Home Office that serves as a sanctuary of productivity and inspiration, perfectly attuned to the needs of its occupant.
Terrace
The primary objective for the terrace was to create a captivating entertainment zone. Alongside providing a cozy space for casual gatherings, the standout feature is an expansive Bar unit adorned with fluted panel designs and a marble countertop. This exquisite piece is ingeniously designed with dedicated wet and dry sections, ensuring a perfect blend for concocting beverages.
