A 2900 Sq.ft House in Pune Completed Under A Span of 4 Months | About the Space

Its not everyday you get a brief of completing a 2900 sq ft house in Pune under a span of 4 months. Taking this up as a challenge, the architects knew they had an exciting time coming up.

Nestled in the heart of Pune, this apartment by About the Space is all things serene wrapped in elegance and minimalism. Taking into account the clients needs of a modern home, with classic elegance and functionality the team tried to translate it into spatial qualities.

Editor’s Note: “Within this dwelling, aesthetic minimalism intertwines effortlessly with functional elegance, crafting an ambiance steeped in both comfort and luxury. Rich hues of honey and blaze, complemented by hints of olive, adorn the interiors with a refined palette, showcasing meticulous attention to detail. Departing from the rigidity of linear forms, furnishings, ceilings, and wall adornments coalesce in an uninterrupted flow, orchestrating a symphony of design that seamlessly harmonises aesthetics with utility.” ~Simran Khare

A 2900 Sq.ft House in Pune Completed Under A Span of 4 Months | About the Space

Entrance and Colour Palette

Upon entering, the space exudes refinement and sophistication. The essence of this home truly lies in having created a space with natural tones and yet blended it enough with metallic elements and leather detailing to give a plush look and feel.

Where less is more, the colour palette carefully chosen was warm tones of honey and hazel blended in with shades of olive. Imagining the home as a space where one’s creative self can be replenished, the architects brought in earthy materials and textures.

Lounging Area

The heart of the home is definitely the cosy lounging area with swivel arm chairs. It is placed right next to the ombre finished coffee bar. The very first space as we enter the home becomes the best spot to entertain friends and family by brewing a fresh cup of coffee as they sit around the boucle sofa and chat.

Living Room

The larger living area right across the lounge area is where the family can relax, watch television and enjoy the sunset right outside.

The flowing lines in the carpet, curves in the ceiling and the large round sofa. It all makes way for the beautiful art work by Hue Odyssey that takes centre stage here.

The tv unit comes together beautifully with a leather panel at the back, veneer detailing and metallic lacquer on drawer fronts. A circular planter box cuts through the rectangular mass.
