When designing modern homes, we tend to select the contemporary design language that reflects our modern lifestyle and taste. This home by architect Priyanka Rajguru reflects midcentury design amalgamated with modern visuals. The new age 4BHK contemporary house with classical aesthetics in Mumbai city, inspired by the classic curvy edges with a tint of Parisian hues and details. The design revels the minute details that offer a fresh look with exquisite interior detailing in every corner of the house. Just like an ideal workaholic couple, the homeowners wanted to seek peace from the moment they step into the residence. The home ideates a pastel color palette throughout the house with ample light and positivity just like the client had imagined their dream home.

“Since they wanted a lot of positive energy throughout the house, what’s better than a pure white, feather-themed house?” states Priyanka, the principal architect of the firm. It’s a home that bridges the gap between classical aesthetics through its contemporary design detail. Somewhere between the cityscapes of Mumbai meeting the old & classical Europe, the spectacular craftsmanship wins a heart with the appealing design.
The wainscoting /wall moulding throughout the space creates warmth and acts as an interesting element to the bare walls. Small carvings that give an effortless yet sophisticated touch to the space evoke a comforting feeling of a home. However, what sets apart the design is the furniture that has been handcrafted with sheer details of the unique carving creating cohesion with the wall carvings.
As a symbol of peace, a big buddha statue has been placed near the entrance. A small illusional swing has been placed with a moulded background wall that exudes an identity with the Indian roots. The floral jacquard furniture fabric finely encapsulates the hand-carved wooden furniture.
A small lounge area differs from a contemporary brass table between two classic chairs that add a twist to the overall design language complementing the brass finished wall clock.
The dining area has a magnificent round table with a marble top which narrates the client’s ideology of equality, “Every family member holds the same place, there are no hierarchies hence no dedicated place at dining table for head of the family”.
The master bedroom has a customized cluster of motifs as a backdrop. The paneling with a tinge of blue exuberates a divine feeling with its floral details.
The handcrafted bed and night stand in royal white capture unmatched grandeur with wooden flooring.
The daughter’s room is an insight of a simple yet palatial abode with a princess vibe that changes the aura of the space.
Decked in all white the daughter’s room offers a sweet & cozy corner that has a brass swing and a study desk that encapsulates the cityscape.
Unlike other spaces, the side table is not a classic one unfolding the young owner’s identity and design choices.
The guest bedroom has some purely contemporary design elements that are an abstract of the overall design language that has been followed throughout the space.
With fine edges, few floral carvings and a grid mirror wardrobe, the blue shade thrive the room with its radiance and dynamism.
Creating a symphony of rhythmic floral patterns, this home has a profound design language soaked in sophistication.
