The abstract art in bright colors complements the muted material palette of teakwood colonnade, veneer and copper at Puja alcove. The wooden colonnade brings in the traditional ethos in this modern home.

The wall of family memories printed on canvas tucked in wooden embroidery rings is reminiscent of the memories of his mother and hence creates a personalised wall art.

The abstract art in bright colours complements the muted material palette of teakwood colonnade, veneer and copper at Puja alcove. The wooden colonnade brings in the traditional ethos in this modern home.

Seamlessly blending spaces with well-balanced proportions of traditional and modern elements of design is an intentional design decision to communicate family bindings to their roots while the openness conveys the modern urban lifestyle.

A transparent wooden screen physically divides the dining space but lends an overall visual spaciousness to entire common space. A handcrafted copper lamp accentuated the dining area with a lighter colour curtain that provides a good backdrop to the drama of traditional materials teak and copper.

Warli wall art piece accentuates a wall in the traditional baithak area. The client respects and understands local crafts and the introduction this specially crafted statement piece stems from the idea to promote local artists towards an effort to brand the art form into modern context.  Eventually, everything else around it started complementing that statement piece.

The kitchen uses a grey colour and geometric pattern tiles and representing the modern day lifestyle. A dash a terracotta colour connects it with the rest of the house and playfulness is achieved in this ultra-small size kitchen through selection colours and patterns.

Plain white full height wardrobe avails of a good amount of storage space without visually intimidating the space.

Client’s love for white colour proved a boon for the designer, the colour ix extensively used on bigger wall surfaces and wardrobes to achieve visual spaciousness. These muted colour tones are carried to the bedroom, maintaining the continuity through the house where furnishings and upholstery play an important role.

A highlight wardrobe door continues the concept of traditional modern theme by using typical framed shutter style with knobs that works a piece of art giving it a traditional almirah effect.

The layout of the multifunctional bed space as desired by the clients provides for a separate children’s alcove, a double bed and a study table that defines these spaces. An open layout similar to the living area opens up a cramped space into individual yet common space offering
