Neverland-Secret Garden House is Conceived as an Inward-looking sanctuary organized around two landscaped courtyards placed along the eastern and southern edges of the site. These voids divide the residence into two built islands, connected through bridges and corridors, transforming Circulation into an architectural journey where landscape and structure remain in constant conversation. The Courtyards function as Climatic lungs, drawing in daylight, enabling cross-ventilation, and softening the interiors through dense Planting.
Light And Cross-Ventilation Move Throughout This Tamil Home | STO.M.P
The eastern court receives the morning sun, while the southern court absorbs the warmth of the day, creating an ever-shifting play of light and shadow that animates internal spaces and marks the passage of time.
Towards the street, the house presents a restrained urban façade composed of ochre planes, muted grey walls, and perforated screens. This layered envelope balances privacy and cross-ventilation, gently veiling the vibrant interior life while allowing filtered light and air to pass through.
Inside, boundaries between enclosed and open spaces dissolve. Verandahs, corridors, staircases, and bridges extend into the gardens as inhabitable thresholds rather than merely overlooking them.
Living, dining, and private spaces are consistently oriented towards greenery, ensuring daily routines remain visually and climatically connected to nature.
Rooted in climate, movement, and memory, Secret Garden House positions the garden not as an accessory, but as the spatial and environmental core of domestic life.
