Nestled in Pune, The Perch is a thoughtfully designed 4500 sq. ft. residence that stands as a testament to the homeowner’s journey, a family of six who have finally found permanence after years of moving from place to place. Inspired by this sense of arrival and earthy materials, the home serves as a perch, a place to land and belong.
Earthy Materials And Thoughtful Design Dominate This Pune Home |Studio Aatman
A cohesive palette of warm neutrals and earthy materials dominates the interiors, punctuated by earthy highlights in shades of rust, brown, and Indian red.
The living room becomes the heart of the house, where a striking wall installation captures the family’s journey through evocative paintings, maps, and plans from the homes they’ve lived in.
Carefully arranged in a grid, the composition features intentional voids, leaving space for framing future memories.
The multipurpose room stands as a joyful departure from the rest of the home’s subtle hues, boasting vibrant green and navy blue tones.
Embracing a theme of “emotion,” the room serves as a space for music classes, reading sessions, and lively board game matches—with chess holding a special place as part of the family’s daily ritual.
Each bedroom reflects the unique character of its occupant while adhering to the home’s overarching design language—neutral tones accented by a single vibrant color.
The children’s room, designed for two young boys, embodies a playful yet timeless approach. Warm pinewood tones and anthropometrically planned furniture create a dynamic environment with a Balloon Toy Pickler set at its center.
A reading nook by the bedside fosters nightly storytelling, while pegboards invite creative organization.
The Perch masterfully balances individuality and cohesion, creating a space that honors the family’s past, celebrates their present, and leaves room for future memories—a true sanctuary of belonging and harmony.
