Designed for a young couple whose tastes gracefully oscillate between Indian ethnic charm and contemporary minimalism, this 3BHK duplex, adorned with patterns and textures, is as unique as it is intentional. Their offbeat hobbies and vibrant lifestyle called for thoughtful zoning and nuanced customisation — not just a house, but a home that mirrors their story.
“Inherently functional, coherently Indo-modern.”
With this vision, we set out to craft a space where timeless aesthetics meet everyday practicality. Curves and arches soften the structure, while warm veneers and vibrant accent colours weave a visual narrative that flows seamlessly throughout.

The entryway opens into a linear stretch that merges living, dining, and kitchen zones — demanding a cohesive and curated design language. To bring unity, we introduced recurring motifs: soft curves and subtle paneling, ensuring continuity and balance across spaces.
At the heart of the living area, a half-wall facing the staircase gently curves to add softness and flow. Textured paneling along the adjacent wall deepens the visual story, anchoring the space in a contemporary-classical aesthetic.
A standout here is the veneered-rattan TV unit, a blend of material richness and artisanal warmth. Its tall, dual-access frame is both sculptural and functional: facing the social zone on one side, and acting as a drop zone for keys and essentials on the other.
The space is anchored further with a curated selection of furniture from Alamkaram and Kursi Studio, chosen for their tactile richness and understated elegance.
And then, there’s the custom wood-and-glass balcony door — a warm nod to classic French doors, updated to suit a modern narrative.
A short passage leads to the dining zone, adorned with a sleek console and mirror. The console’s angular leg, wall-mounted for balance becomes a quiet design detail that sparks curiosity.
The dining nook itself is a delight: framed by a custom-curved wall, with built-in bench seating upholstered in bold tribal patterns and textures. Subtle wallpaper and a teak wood table complete the look, making this compact corner a charming retreat.
The kitchen is bold yet balanced: vivid blue tiles bring energy, while understated cabinetry keeps the look grounded. Bespoke utility additions, like built-in slots for trays and chopping boards, underscore the home’s commitment to seamless functionality.
There’s even a cozy bite-sized nook, ideal for quick meals or casual chats. Another dual delight: both visually striking and soulfully serene.
The home office is where functionality meets fun. A deep custom table anchors the space for focused work. But it doesn’t stop there — a Murphy bed folds down for guests, while open shelving proudly displays a vibrant superhero collection. Equal parts productive and playful, a little universe of its own.
Floral whispers echo through the master bedroom — seen in the headboard, furnishings, and wardrobe. The dual-panel upholstered headboard adds depth and softness, tying the garden-inspired theme together.
The sage-toned wardrobe with matching wallpaper enhances the sense of calm, while a bay window flanked by curio shelves invites pause and reflection.
Here, Indian and Japanese floral patterns and textures weave into one another — a quiet reflection of the home’s soul: ‘Palash’.
Whether it’s a cozy reading corner, a mini home office, or a place to lounge, this room adapts with ease. A raised platform folds into a bed, while integrated shelves and study desks make it multifunctional by design.
This space is a masterclass in versatility — effortlessly transitioning from focused work to quiet reading or simply unwinding.
