  • This Stacked House is a Personal Sanctuary for its Dwellers | Yukta associate

In Patel’s residence – a stacked house, the client came up with a list of multiple requirements of a 5500 square feet program to be proposed on a tight plot of 3890 square feet. They wanted a living room, dining, kitchen with store and utility area, 4 huge bedrooms, a garden area, a lift, a home theatre, a garden and servant quarters. Due to the restricted footprint, the design was forced to go vertically into a three-floor structure, while also accommodating its existing green surroundings on the East-Facing Side of the plot.

    Stacked House

    Design Brief

He specifically desired a dramatic, long-hanging chandelier as the focal point, paired with a console table that reflected his roots. To complete the space and imbue it with spiritual significance, he envisioned a striking portrait of Lord Hanuman, symbolizing strength, devotion, and protection.

    Design Philosophy

At Yukta Associates, our design philosophy is rooted in delivering one standout, out-of-the-box element in every family and dining space something that reflects the strength, character, and lavish lifestyle of the family.

    Stacked House

    Wooden Columns

For this particular residence, our design clarity centered around two powerful elements. First, a pair of vintage, hand-carved wooden columns dated back to 1921 sourced from Amra Vintage Furniture in Ahmedabad. These timeless pieces stand tall, symbolizing strength and heritage, grounding the space with a sense of history and pride.

    Kitchen Design

Designed by Alcova Kitchens, Ahmedabad, this kitchen embodies timeless elegance with a refined beige color palette that exudes warmth and sophistication. The heart of the design is a stunning Brazilian stone countertop that adds a rich, natural texture while serving as a bold yet elegant statement piece. Enhancing the contemporary appeal, the shutters are finished in a sleek glass profile, blending functionality with a modern aesthetic. The result is a seamless, luxurious space that balances practicality with elevated design perfectly suited for both everyday use and refined entertaining.

    Stacked House

    Tactile Materiality

The second element lies in the materiality and finishes. The walls of both the family and dining areas are clad in a sophisticated combination of grey and beige Italian marble, featuring a sculpted, overlapping design that speaks of understated luxury. A beautifully crafted ceiling in HDHMR is finished with Emporio Gold PU by Asian Paints, adding a subtle sheen and warmth to the ambience.

A statement chandelier gracefully hangs in the center, complementing the overall elegance. The space is further elevated with a handpicked rug from D’Décor and an art piece by Ratios, Ahmedabad together adding texture, grace, and personality to this thoughtfully designed setting.

    Master Bedroom

The master bedroom is a serene retreat, defined by the elegance of modern interior design and thoughtful detailing.

The highlight of the room is the luxurious Italian marble cladding on the back wall of the bed, adding depth, texture, and timeless sophistication. Above, a beautifully curved wooden ceiling softens the space. Further, creating a warm and inviting ambiance, further enhanced by ambient lighting from Neptune Lights.

    Stacked House

The centerpiece of the room is a custom-designed bed by Krima Furniture, Ahmedabad. Crafted with precision to complement the overall aesthetics while offering comfort and style. Together, these elements create a harmonious blend of modern luxury and quiet refinement.

    Kid’s Bedroom

This kid’s bedroom breaks away from typical childish themes, embracing a more refined and timeless aesthetic. The designers chose a pure pilot grey palette to give the room a calm, sophisticated feel. They finished the walls with a stucco texture. Further, adding a subtle moisture cloud effect that brings depth and artistic softness to the space. The all-grey leather bed complements the tone-on-tone theme. Here, a mustard yellow lounge chair introduces a bold pop of colour. Bringing warmth and a relaxed vibe to the room.

The back wall stands as a striking focal point, designed by a skilled local glass vendor. It features a stunning 15-foot-long, 9-foot-tall parametric glass panel, creating a dynamic visual element that adds both scale and modern flair to the space. This bedroom strikes the perfect balance between youthful energy and understated elegance.

    Home Theater

Spanning an expansive 27 feet by 22 feet, this home theatre delivers an immersive cinematic experience while embracing the warmth of classic aesthetics. A rich palette of brown and beige styles the space, creating a cosy yet sophisticated environment ideal for movie nights and entertainment. A state-of-the-art 13-speaker surround sound system envelops the viewer in multi-level audio, thanks to its strategic placement. The layout includes 4 plush recliners and 2 lounge sofa sets, thoughtfully arranged to offer comfort and flexibility for both family and guests. The walls are clad with compressed, ready-to-clad acoustic panels, not only enhancing sound quality but also contributing to the theatre’s polished, professional finish. This space perfectly blends high-performance technology with refined design.
