Our client approached us with a bold vision: to transform their traditional Chartered Accountancy (CA) office with ergonomic design into a lively and engaging workspace that would break away from the monotonous nature of routine financial tasks. The brief emphasized the need for a vibrant, inspiring environment that could enhance employee well-being, foster collaboration, and boost productivity. With full creative freedom granted, our team was tasked with reimagining the office space while maintaining its functionality and professionalism.
Our design process began with thorough research and analysis of the client’s daily activities and workflow. Space planning replaced traditional cubicles with open clusters and breakout areas to encourage collaboration. Innovative materials like FEFS and Flex Sazzo flooring were chosen for their durability and aesthetic appeal. A vibrant color scheme, featuring hues like rust orange, added energy to the space, while large windows and indoor plants maximized natural light and improved air quality. Ergonomic furniture, including adjustable chairs and sit-stand desks, was prioritized to promote health and comfort. Despite challenges in sourcing materials and custom designs, proactive communication ensured a smooth execution, culminating in a vibrant and functional office environment that exceeded client expectations.
With Focus on Ergonomic Design, This Office Space Breaks Monotony | Marigold Interiors
To foster collaboration and communication, we envisioned an open-plan office layout, breaking away from the traditional cubicle setup. Desks were arranged in clusters to encourage teamwork, and breakout areas were strategically placed to provide spaces for informal meetings and brainstorming sessions.
The team incorporated large windows to flood the office with daylight, creating a bright and airy atmosphere. They also placed indoor plants throughout the space, bringing a touch of nature indoors while enhancing aesthetics and improving air quality.
FEFS (FlexStone Exterior Facade System) is a type of cladding system that provides exterior walls with an insulated, finished surface and waterproofing in an integrated composite material system.
We used customized foam concrete FlexSazzo flooring, 40mm thick, as a unique solution. FlexStone provides a jointless version of traditional terrazzo flooring using the strongest UHPC material. FlexSazzo allows for the creation of seamless designs in vibrant colors, enhancing the space’s aesthetic appeal.
The team utilized FlexStone in monochrome colors for the partitions, creating a sleek and modern aesthetic. This material is resistant to scratches, stains, and wear, and its moldable properties allowed us to design customized partition shapes and sizes.
To break away from the conventional neutral tones often associated with CA offices, we adopted a dynamic color scheme. The design team chose vibrant hues, particularly rust orange for the furniture finishes to create an energetic and uplifting environment that boosts mood and productivity while maintaining a professional appearance.
Given the physical demands of desk-bound work, we prioritized ergonomic design to ensure comfort and reduce strain. The team carefully selected adjustable chairs, sit-stand desks, and supportive accessories to cater to individual preferences and promote healthy posture. This approach enhanced both employee well-being and productivity.
The innovative nature of our design concepts led to several execution challenges. Sourcing specific materials, custom-designing furniture, and coordinating the installation of unique elements took longer than anticipated. Meticulous planning and proactive communication with all stakeholders addressed these delays, keeping the project on track despite the obstacles.
The completed office space exceeded expectations, transforming into a vibrant, engaging, and happy environment. The open-plan layout, dynamic color scheme, and interactive zones positively shaped how employees perceived their work. The space successfully blended functionality with inspiration, making it a workplace that energizes and motivates its occupants.
