Great design goes beyond aesthetics—it reflects the personalities and passions of those who inhabit a space. As Charles Eames aptly said, “The details are the design.” Keeping this in mind, Snehal Jajoo of sthetic. designs was cognisant of her leaning towards a layout that promotes interaction and created a shared space that was both functional and clutter-free. Spread across 1,485 sq ft, this Nashik office is a shared workspace where three firms coexist. She envisioned a layout rooted in concrete interior design that promoted collaboration and interaction through clear sight lines, permeable partitions, and a neutral yet warm aesthetic. Air-purifying plants and art were prioritised to achieve an inviting and dynamic environment.

“We wanted to create porous partitions using either glass or open shelves with planters so that it does not feel congested or boxed in. We wanted to use a subtle color palette and warm wood tones with a backdrop of muted whites,” says Snehal.
The office design incorporates five cabins, including an executive cabin for the Managing Director, along with a reception and waiting area, accounts section, and a 10-pax open workstation. Additional amenities such as a pantry, a toilet block, and a dedicated storeroom were integrated to maximise productivity and utility.
The spatial arrangement maximises functionality, promoting movement and interaction while preserving privacy where necessary. The design philosophy is anchored in openness and warmth. The design uses neutral tones, tactile materials, and greenery to create a grounded yet dynamic environment that fosters collaboration. Artwork, furniture, and accessories introduce colours across the layout to lend an energising vibe.
The design story starts at the reception area, leaving a bold and memorable impression with its textured terracotta-tinted micro-concrete walls. This desk by The Concrete Works is doused in ombre grey hues. As a result, it introduces a palette that flows through the office with quiet consistency. Customised sconces and a gradient reception desk crafted from the same material enhance the contemporary vibe.
The waiting area’s neutral beige sofa offers a comfortable seating option for visitors. Striking layered abstract artwork made of MDF coated in micro concrete, featuring hues that resonate with the terracotta wall in the reception area, blends artistic expression with modern design. Artwork by Studio Joyeeta and carpet by Obeetee also echo this tone.
At the nucleus of this office space is the accounts section that embodies transparency and accessibility, designed with open desks and organised storage solutions. Positioned strategically, it ensures seamless interaction with adjacent zones, enabling quick resolutions to queries and fostering collaboration. This open-plan layout seamlessly blends with nearby workstations and breakout spaces, reinforcing visual connectivity and a sense of unity within the workspace.
The private cabins reflect a harmonious balance of individuality and cohesion, each thoughtfully designed with distinct elements while adhering to the overall neutral palette. In the rear cabin, earthy beige tones and micro-concrete walls exude warmth.
Pendant lighting complements the abundant natural light streaming through large windows, creating an inviting atmosphere. Slanted wooden shelves, custom-designed to display materials and design catalogues, add a unique touch.
The Managing Director’s cabin combines functionality and style, featuring an accent colour and a Frame TV that doubles as artwork. Herringbone flooring, warm wood tones, and natural light make the space both sophisticated and welcoming.
Additional sofa seating enhances comfort, while a curtain provides privacy when needed, maintaining visual connectivity with other workspaces.
Muted burgundy cabinetry and a contrasting white artwork from Calcuttan Gallery punctuate the cabin positioned behind the reception’s feature wall, creating a refined aesthetic.
At the far-end of the workspace are cabins that maintain a neutral colour scheme, ensuring a cohesive design language. Fluted glass panels framed in wood serve as partitions between the cabins, balancing openness and privacy while allowing light to filter through.
