This Modern Luxury House Interior Seamlessly Infuses with Traditional | Aboli Shah Atelier
As you step through the entrance, the classic walnut veneer doors, adorned with champagne-tinted mirrors, greet you with understated sophistication.
Natural light pours in, illuminating the vast living area. The luxurious grey Italian marble floor reflects the daylight, while the Sabyasachi fabric wallpapers create a warm, inviting atmosphere.
The tufted leather furniture sits proudly in the living room adding a hint of vintage element to the modern space. Whereas the dining area is bestowed with an unusual square dining table handcrafted with mother of pearl and fluted teak wood which fits subtly into the perfect juxtaposition of modern and traditional design.
One cannot miss the mandir, a quiet focal point of serenity draped in Crystal Onyx. This sacred space glows gently overlooking the entrance and is designed with the principles of crystal healing, promoting balance and mindfulness in the heart of the home. The journey continues into the Den—a central hub where the family gathers.
The lush grey carpet underfoot, paired with acoustic walls and leather recliners which create a cocoon-like atmosphere, perfect for intimate conversations or cinematic experiences. A striking backlit Crystal Amethyst counter is the masterpiece, embodying the healing properties of the crystal while providing a visual spectacle.
Adding a touch of drama, a bold red door stands at the entrance leading to the powder room, a space that dazzles with a contrasting palette of black stone and Versace gold wallpaper exaggerating opulence. The powder room is the only space in the entire home that strikingly stands apart, inspired from the 17th century Baroque architecture it acts as an escape to the minimalist home.
The Master’s en-suite stands as a sanctuary of luxury and practicality. A deep blue suede backdrop against the upholstered bed contrasts with the subtle grey-tinted mirrors and white French mouldings that frames the space.
The adjoining walk-in closet with its large double doors epitomizes organized elegance. Thus, making this room both a place of rest and reflection.
For the parents, their en-suite exudes serenity. Traditional wooden palette compliments the minimalistic design with a large mirrored wardrobe reflecting the soft, sage green bedding made from Indian hand woven fabric.
The bathroom, wrapped in soft beige marble offers a tranquil retreat, blending simplicity with sophistication.
In contrast, the kid’s en-suite is a playful haven painted in the Pantone Colour of 2024—a soft blush that evokes warmth and creativity.
Moreover, the ombré blush coral granite floor transitions into a cleverly designed foldout bed with ample storage space.
An entire activity wall invites imagination and fuels creativity. Thus, serving as a canvas for painting, drawing, and even Lego creations.
The adjoining bathroom continues the playful theme with coral marble, rose gold fittings, and elegant accents that inspire a sense of youthful luxury
The clients, a young and enthusiastic couple, brought a sense of curiosity and intuition to the home building process. They desired a classic, minimalistic modern home that prioritized functionality while harnessing natural elements, particularly ample sunlight. Their openness to new ideas allowed the design to evolve, resulting in a timeless space that uniquely blends luxury with a sense of healing. This collaboration created a home that not only meets their practical needs but also nurtures their well-being.
SPATIAL DESIGN & CHALLENGES:The spatial design challenges we faced in this home centered on adapting the floor plan to meet the client’s needs. The largest challenge was to reconfigure all the passage ways created in the earlier layout. We successfully reconfigured the circulation flow opening up the dining and living areas into a large central space. We converted the fourth bedroom into a staff room, added extra storage, and created a small mandir area. However, we encountered limitations from building policies that restricted changes to window sizes and structural constraints.
