A Delicate Balance

The art of transforming a house into a home lies in the delicate balance of design elements, a fact not lost on the owner who embarked on this home interior design journey. The overarching theme of the residence revolves around a pastel colour palette, breathing life into each corner with subtle yet impactful shades. The decision to retain existing furniture, such as the sofa and dining table, served as a grounding element, infusing familiarity into the redesigned spaces.

As one crosses the threshold into this elegant abode, the foyer extends a warm welcome. A solid wood console unit with drawers serves both form and function, providing storage without compromising on style.

Foyer

A beach wood beading, polished in a rich oak hue, outlines the customised wallpaper, creating a harmonious backdrop for the pendant light sourced from Ikea. The carefully chosen elements in the foyer set the tone for a sophisticated journey that unfolds within the home.

The living area unfolds as a pastel oasis, with a delicate balance of colours and textures. A wallpaper graces the TV wall, while pastel blue pops of colour, rattan texture laminate, and Louisiana oak wood texture laminate form the shelves.

MDF trims nailed to the wall are painted in a soothing Asian Paints morning glory shade, adding a touch of refinement. A flat false ceiling, dropping by 4 inches, accommodates cob lights and cornice detail, creating a subtle play of light and shadow.

Dining Area

Moving seamlessly from the living area, the dining space is the epitome of simple elegance. Louisiana oak laminate beading traces the customised wallpaper on the dining wall.

1500 sq ft home

Existing furniture, including the dining table and chairs, finds a renewed purpose, enhanced by wall lights and a chandelier. Scallop backsplash tiles in pastel blue with white epoxy contrast create a visually pleasing handwashing space.

Pooja Room

A terrazzo-finished sink with a matte black faucet and an exotic granite countertop with pastel blue laminate shutters with rattan textures render a quirky appeal. The crockery unit, enclosed with shaker-style shutters and fluted glass, adds a touch of poise.

The countertop and its side panels in Louisiana oak laminate illuminated by strip lighting seamlessly tie the entire space together.

A tranquil haven for spiritual reflections, the pooja room embraces simplicity and serenity. The pooja door, a solid wood frame with fluted glass and Pichwai painting, creates a sense of transparency and spirituality.

1500 sq ft home

White tiles clad the back and side walls, ensuring easy maintenance. The white quartz countertop houses the idols, flooded with light emanating from the back panel. Louisiana oak laminate shutters with brushed brass finished knobs exude charm.

Kitchen

With a granite countertop and a statuario tile backsplash, the kitchen combines functionality with aesthetic appeal. Sage green shutters for the bottom cabinets and Louisiana oak and white laminate for the above ones offer a refreshing twist, while thoughtful details like a wicker basket for onion and garlic storage along with a tall storage cabinet next to the refrigerator add practicality. Matt black gola profile handles, shutter details, and under-cabinet concealed strip lights enhance the allure.

Kids Bedroom

The kids’ bedroom is a whimsical sanctuary that seamlessly blends playfulness with sophistication. Pastel blue laminate finish with grooves accents the study unit’s back panel, while the ledges in white laminate finish accommodate strip lights.

With an astronaut sticker, the sliding wardrobe features a delightful combination of white and pastel blue laminates. Custom-designed kids’ beds with a bottom play area and steps to the bed above, Matt Black ladder steps for climbing, cutesy wallpaper with white laminated ledges to display toys, and animal print blinds bestow a touch of personalised charm, creating a space where imagination knows no bounds.

Master Bedroom

The master bedroom oozes tranquillity, with wooden laminated flooring and a custom-made king-size bed as the focal point. A neutral shade end-to-end headboard layered with a Louisiana oak runner creates a serene ambience.

Lime plaster texture wallpaper above the headboard adds depth, while the laminate-finished sliding wardrobe seamlessly merges with the bay window storage shutters in white laminate. A touch of continuity with the lime plaster texture wallpaper and push-to-open shutters in the loft completes the design.

Inhabiting this meticulously crafted home is akin to residing within a canvas where every stroke, every colour, and every detail has been thoughtfully curated. The pastel symphony, the incorporation of existing furniture, and the arrangement of planters throughout evoke a sense of familiarity. Meanwhile, the subtle yet impactful design choices elevate the home into a sanctuary of grace. Every room tells a unique story, woven together by the common thread of taste that envelopes every corner. Living here is not just a daily routine; it’s a celebration of refined living that resonates through the soul.
